@kazwookie do you have a log burner? If so have you checked the door is sealing properly? That was my issue earlier in the week. Now I've tightened the door handle, it's much better.
Today I've order some more logs which will be delivered Christmas week.
Some dusty things dusted but not all.
WM x 1 completed and hanging to dry on airer in front of fire. Another load to do later.
Scones made and one will be scoffed shortly, one will be put aside for tomorrow and the rest will go in the freezer for another day.
Bread maker on making/beating the dough ready for me to knockback later and do the second proving in a tin.
Trip to GP decluttered - BP defo not what it should be so I need to monitor it at home for a couple of weeks and report back
Booked in for an ECG to be on the safe side to check all is well there.
More importantly GP confirmed the chest infection I had in October that I thought I'd recovered from appears to be lingering so back on the roids and antibs for me... I was clearly sicker than I thought and it's quite remarkable that I've managed to do what I have been doing over the last few weeks!
Popped into local corner shop on way back to pick up a couple of essentials.
DGD won't be round as usual tomorrow because she is poorly with some evil virus that saw her in A&E for a few hours last night because of a v. high temp and laboured breathing. She slowly recovering at home now. I told DD she was to stay away as well to keep any potential germs she may be carrying to herself!
Off to DS's in a bit for an end-of-week G&T.
Have a good evening everyone

Hi all
Nice day, stood my ground over something at the paid stuff because I want to do things properly and my colleague just wants to get things done quickly even if it's wrong and comes back to haunt us later. Pleased with myself. It will get finished on Monday.
Finished early, took some cardboard to the recycling centre and parked near our local Forestry Commission centre to do a 5 mile walk. I was going to walk all the way up to the visitor centre and treat myself to a coffee but it was really gloomy and drizzling and I started to worry I was going to be walking back in the dark!
Fire lit and feet up, more washing over the airer, pasta eaten and kitchen put to bed. More flying tomorrow and I want to find a cheap Christmas activity for Sunday. DS1 has a cold and keeps messaging to say how poorly he is!9 -
Good evening all, I'm afraid I have lost track of the thread and have barely flown!!!
Hope all are weel and thoughts, prayers, and spoons, sticks to those in need xx
Younger children's Christmas concerts done, just the older ones to do theirs and I haven't been involved, so looking forward to watch it when I'm with Yr4 on Thursday.
Christmas cards and ornaments to be done for the little ones. Hoping we will be starting to wind down for the last couple of weeks.
House......I'm hoping to get some stuff done on the weekend. I will have a look at the list and prioritise what needs doing xz10 -
Aww, thank you Round and ASB xx You guys are the tops. I’m still here. I did 4 long days on the trot at work, no flying and no news apart from moaning about the paid stuff. But today is Fri-yay, I’ve finished work until next Thursday. Wooty woot woot. That’s the last of my annual leave for this year used up - let’s just hope that I’ve counted it correctly. When you’re in charge of the leave records, and all that…
So it’s pjs and cake now. DH is loitering as he has nobody to go to the pub with. The weekend is beckoning, the lists are long.Have a lovely evening, ladies. I’ll be well and truly in tomorrow xx9 -
- started another report
- survived Body Step without falling off!
- I load washing done, hung out, brought in. At last some sunshine although it is very wet everywhere.
- I load through DW, put away.
- picked up a few things from Mr T; have 2 flower arrangements to do so needed flowers; also found some yellow stickers.
- visited friend in care home
- juggled money about between bank accounts
- finished writing all the cards we have; will need to buy about 20 more.
- Mr N has taken up all the soaked flooring and the area beneath it is drying out nicely.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -

This was my list yesterday: Comments as appropriate- Put Mr T shopping away when it arrives. There are no subs/not availables which is good so crackers (the bangy type) will be there and one Christmas present and squirty vegan cream (has a loooong shelf-life) all bought early so I know have them!
- Compile my personal Christmas present list so the kids stop nagging me.
- Make Christmas cards (I already have the design in mind) - design decided prototyping to happen today and final print/cut if all works well
- Finalise C. card list
- Plan C. Saturday buffet menu - ongoing but getting there
- Plan C. day menu - ongoing but getting t
- Phone meat order through to butcher - ongoing
- Refill indoor log store as mucho rain forecast for tomorrow - done, but ought to order another load - I have enough to last until Christmas I think but with bank hols etc. around that time, I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Just as well I was up and dressed early today, Amazon delivery was due before 1pm. The door bell rang at 8.20 - earliest ever.
It is dark and wet and v. gloomy today so not much physical flying will be done except perhaps a WM load so I will focus on the Christmas planning.
Hope you're all well and have a good day.@ionafan and soappie I've spent too much time on it but it's fascinating. I just wish I knew something about the lives of the people I've discovered, although you can infer the odd thing. Sometimes things such as someone being obviously named after a relative other than one of the parents suggests a close bond between the parent of the child and the person they were named after. For example, I discovered that my uncle Ben wasn't Benjamin, as I'd assumed, but Bernard, and he had an odd middle name that sounded more like a surname. This puzzled me but as he died many years ago and his siblings, including my father, are also dead, there is no one to ask. I put it to one side as a insoluble puzzle but as I went further back I discovered that his mother's uncle had the same two Christian names and the second, odd, Christian name was the maiden surname of her grandmother, is great grandmother. Puzzle solved. That my grandmother gave one of her sons the same two Christian names as her uncle had, suggested to me that they were very close. I shall never know for certain though.Anyway, flying. This morning we went to the shops to get a couple of Christmas presents (does that count as flying?) and then to the little M&S for a couple of bits. On the way back we stopped off at a local pub that was refurbished in the summer, to see what it was like. The staff were very nice but it is quite large and had hardly anyone in, so no atmosphere. I doubt we shall go back.Got home and prepared lunch, washed up, tidied up the dining room table, cooked supper, washed up, applied eye medication (following yesterday's hospital visit A now has to have one set of eye drops 6 times a day and two other types once a day, before going to bed plus, also before going to bed, he is supposed to massage his eye lids and also apply a flannel which has been boiled in a saucepan and allowed to cool a bit. It's all a but much really and I'm afraid we missed one dose of the eye drops and we haven't even tried with the flannel thing.10 -
Morning all.
That does sound rather complicated CoG. If the flannel has to cool for a bit, can't you just put it under a hot tap? Maybe not sterile enough..
I am up at paid stuff time even though it's the weekend. Both DGDs will be here today so I don't think flying will feature. So far I'm dressed, the bed is made and a wash load is in the machine. Going to do dog walk early before the forecast rain starts.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Morning allPouring with rain here and set in for the day. I need to be outside for a couple of hours - got someone coming to collect a sheep, and two sheep coming back from their little love holiday! I’ll light the fire and we’ll cabin in. I feel dreadful, hacking cough same as DS and ear ache.Flying will be limited to DW and WM I expect. Take care all xx9

Morning all,
ASB, that sounds like a day in front of the fire with your book and a cheesy film. Stay cosy x
It is downright miserable here, just about got light in the last half hour. I made a list last night for the weekend, so will crack (more likely slowly lumber) on with that in a bit.
First job is to read the list. Full of tedious flying jobs that have passed me by over the last week or so.
The kettle has just boiled again for the important second cuppa. Help yourselves to tea or coffee x10
