@Honey_Bear @roundtuit you should set up your own plumbing business. You could be the Flyladies Plumbers. I have a lav seat that needs fixing, perhaps you could call over at your convenience and fix it for me. Thanks!@Fayolle Brentford Nylons - that takes me back to my childhood.7

Got up, washed and dressed and then administered A's eye drops. Went to the 08.30 Mass and then stopped off on the way back to buy a paper and go to a bakery for a pain au chocolat for A and also one of their delicious and large cheese straws. I will pop it in the over for a few minutes and we will share it with a drink before our supper. Came home and opened the doors on the Advent calendars, made us a coffee, read yesterday's paper and put up some Christmas cards. I'm about to prepare lunch. It's cool and grey and was raining earlier so not a day for going out again.I have a bag of recycling to take down but I think I"ll leave until tomorrow.9

Fayolle said:My other memory there is of Brentford Nylon pink and orange sheets on the bed…Oh good God I remember them! Hideous colours and vile feel to them on the body. Hot and scratchy. :shudder: There's a completely mad museum in what was a three storey house in the town centre of Ashburton that has two floors of local interest, and the top floor is a mishmash of American culture, particularly native American stuff. It is all rather bizarre and part of the reason I feel in love with the town. It's very like Totnes in that they've managed to keep all of the retail chains out of it, so there are masses of independent traders. Really looking forward to exploring on Friday. I didn't realise it had become a food mecca, but the pub is outstanding so that's probably part of it.Cloth of Gold I've actually fixed a few loo seats in my time and can't understand why anyone wouldn't! They're really straightforward contraptions but I admit no-one really wants to get up close when they start their slip and slide routine. Round and I need to design our uniforms before we launch our new business and I'm crap at designing. Anyone?Knackered.Have spent the whole day so far titivating the house ready for the arrivals this afternoon and putting up another set of outdoor Christmas lights. Not sure when I became responsible for those, but as Belovéd does all the indoor ones I'm going to let that go. It's not that I have any intention of keeping up that standard of housekeeping while the guests are here, but like putting the central heating on before they arrive first impressions really do count and it's also important to give the place a proper clean and tidy once in a while. So that's done for December, but my feet hurt because I wore a pair of shoes I had as a spare to my every day sandals and they're hell on my feet. They're now in the car waiting to be donated.
Better is good enough.7 -
Evening all.
I'm trying to think what I've achieved today.....dog walk, one wash load, wrapped last of presents (have I said that before?), practised the cake I'm making for Xmas day - mmm....improvement needed, cut DHs hair, hoovered through.
As it's now mild and dry we've just been for a walk around the village admiring all the Xmas lights.
Right, knitting now while I wait to see what DH is making for tea/dinner.....Spend less now, work less later.8 -
I'm trying to sort presents so I know what I can wrap while the children are awake and what I cannot.. I hate that I am part elf.. and I need some ideas for a 27y/o who never leaves the house and a 19 year old who has enough income to buy anything she wants when she wants it.
And a 11.5y/o who is spoilt and has everything he could possibly want plus some!

Quick question, what has been your favourite job, and why?7

Brentford Nylons…advertised by Alan ‘Fluff’ Freeman. Invented by sadists.
I am knackered. I am in bed. I want my stamina back…
I have 8 packs of given-away mini plum tomatoes to do something with. Roast tomato pasta sauce…I must invent or google a recipe unless…
Plumbing wise I fixed my leaking under sink drainage system and I fitted a new shower head and hose but tbh anybody could do them.
