They are trying to pretend that the £1 fee was an offer of payment. Do not worry, the CCA rules still apply.
Hi, That happened to me when I CCA'd one of the dca's. They just put it through as payment to the outstanding account and telephoned me to say; because I sent them payment I must be liable!. Luckily I only sent 1 acc at first to test the water and sent the rest a few days later without any payment!. I have now received 3 letters saying they don't have agreements, putting them on hold, and will be requesting them from the OC. The cheque I sent them as payment was my fathers with his signature on it, lets see them do some creative photoshop with that then!. ;). They received the letters recorded on the 18 sept, so what happens after 12 plus 2 days?, do I send them another letter?,if so saying what?.

Hello everyone , Just had a light bulb moment !.....:j .. I,ve requested a signed copy of Consumer Credit Agreement from two collection agencies . Plus proof of assignment ,so i know that i,m paying the correct people . So far its been 3 weeks since they recieved by recorded delivery letters . They now have another 3 weeks until they are in breech of the C C ACT.
If everyone who was being pressurised by these agencies were to do the same , request CCA , the chances are they would be snowed under ! And the question is how many would they be able to produce? There are template letters available , so come on everyone , give it ago !!!!!!!! You will lose nothing and maybe end up better off . GOOD LUCK:T :j
Remember this ? and the date posted . Well not paid a penny since then .

It is because they know the paperwork they have would not hold up in court .A Few years ago credit card companies were throwing credit at people, with out insuring the CCA were correctly formulated or even signed and returned . Now with consumer awareness and the bank charges refunds , they have come unstuck .

Even C A B are asking for clear guidelines from the OFT . Seems to me that the C C Act is not clear on some points .
