I get that all the time - even after I've changed the battery. I just live with it now as the dealership wanted some astronomical sum to diagnose if it was a fault, and if so, what it was. I have some spares so change it now and again to be on the safe side.

Flylady Christmas cards posted yesterday or Thursday, I can't remember which. Sorry. Other Christmas cards started, mostly to be hand delivered but there are some to relatives and old friends I need to send. It's the only contact I have with most of them and I do want to stay in touch. It was frosty here this morning but absolutely beautiful. Dropped Beloved off at the station, trundled Wren around The Citadel in her snazzy Lid1-from-four-years-and two-dogs-ago towelling jacket and the got round to sorting out the pots of dead compost so that I could plant the garlic that's been hibernating in the bottom of the fridge for a week or three too long. That involved quite a lot of sweeping up as it meant I had to empty one of the tumbling composters, which I absolutely love, but the stuff does go everywhere when that time comes around.Better is good enough.9

Second load was draped on the airer.
Not much else done. Went to visit DS's Dad in hospital and came home to watch Strictly and Survivor.
Hot chocolate, squirty cream and marshmallows on the side; assorted biscuits in the tin. To be savoured by anyone entering WAC.

first time i’ve ever had that message and, to be fair, i’had to manually lock the car.
Kitchen and bathroom cleaned. Towels in WM. Sat under my new blanket and was toasty., then realised i hadn’t actually plugged it in…wow! Once it’s broken in i’ll be using it on a cooler setting…but it will do my creaky joints good.

Freezing fog and frost this morning so I wimped out of lake swimming. Apparently it was warmer in the water than out, which I don't doubt because I'm sure it's the changing in the car park that gives you hypothermia!!
- new curtains now in my study. Of course I had to remove a lot of things - over-piled in trays, computer etc so that all needs putting back. While Mr N was putting the pole up, I washed the windows which didn't help the temperature of the room having them open, but at least they are clean and I can see the birds better at the feeders.
- defrosted ice on the bird bath
- went to the village Christmas Fayre
- emptied conservatory. Plants and conservatory furniture now all over the house. Peeled back the vinyl flooring to find that the tap which comes out into the conservatory must be leaking behind its housing. Can't find isolator stopcock so we can't address it yet. Can't get the housing off the wall without removing the tap, and daren't turn the main stopcock off to dismantle the tap in case it gushes everywhere. Plus we will need a new floor (it was old parquet flooring beneath the vinyl, and fibreboard below that). Hope that when plumber comes on Tuesday to move another pipe, he is able to sort it out.
- went into town, chose and ordered new vinyl flooring within about 10mins.
- went to Mr L
- wrote more cards
- put yesterday's washing away
- one load through DW, put away.
- went out for meal for a friend's birthday which did nothing for my (in)ability to get into next week's party dress.
In theory I could fit in a lake swim before church tomorrow but I suspect it will still be foggy; it was minus 1 when we drove home from the restaurant.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
Cloth_of_Gold said:Pigpen, I was born in Hull but moved to London in 1986 and have spent the vast majority of my adult life here. I have a few cousins still there but I don't know where as I am not in contact with them. One used to live in Sutton but I don't know if he still does. I think another lives in Hessle or Willerby but I'm not sure.My lovely aunt and uncle and their daughter left there over 10 years ago and went to live near Ilkely, where their granddaughter lives. They both sadly died several years ago (in their 90s ) but their daughter (my cousin) and her daughter and family still live there and I am in contact with them. The only family members that I still have in East Yorkshire that I'm in contact with is my brother and his wife, who live in Welton.
I do not speak like the average native.. I, and my children, are often asked where we are from haha.. I shipped my husband in from Stockport since everyone else here is related

Glad I stocked the WAC shelf. 🤦♀️. You know when you just have that feeling that it's going to be one of those nights!
I was woken up by the boiler conking out. I'm not going to mess about trying to repressurise it in the middle of the night. But that means I'm niggling about whether it will be a DIY job or an emergency call out tomorrow.
And I'm concerned about DS's Dad.
I think I'll give the squirty cream and marshmallows a miss. Maybe a drop of alcohol in my hot chocolate? Does virtual alcohol have any soporific qualities?

it has snowed…and, by the look of the sky it might snow some more.

Morning all
Hugs to you, Round. I hope you and Valli got more sleep, and that the boiler is an easy fix xx
Valli so pleased you’re pleased with the blanket xx
Lots more snow here, totally snowed in. Far preferable to the rain and mud which is due back end of the next week. I didn’t get on yesterday, DS is poorly so lots of cuddles on the sofa by the fire.Low spend December - I haven’t spent a thing yet! Whoop whoop! Plenty in for packed lunches and teas this week so hopeful the next thing I’ll need is milk later this week. Back to the hospital with DD tomorrow so a long afternoon (4pm appointment at hospital 2 hours away).Happy Sunday all xx11 -
Morning my lovelies xx
To quote Valli: it has snowed, and by the look of the sky it might snow some more...
the snow-covered roof of the bungalow opposite is merging with the sky. White sky. It looks full of snow.
Reasons to be cheerful: it's Sunday so I don't have to drive anywhere; and I managed to repressurise my boiler so I have heat. (It didn't work the first time that I tried, but I remembered that happened the last time I called out the plumber and he did exactly what I had done and it worked....so I had another try and yayyy:pressure. For now.)
Thank you asb I must have dropped off eventually....perhaps virtual alcohol is soporific after all. Hic. I hope DS is feeling better today and that the roads are cleared for your trip tomorrow.
I'm up, made my bed, and made a brew. Brew 2 is required.
