Thanks Lucielle, definitely need to pace myself... What gave me away?
Thanks KK, Elisheba, Humdinger, Jwil, Sunshine, Mark, Watty, LWAP, Skint and Bargainhunter
Definitely need to take time to breathe and get a feel of the place before major purchases.
LWAP The loan was an unasked for planned loan where I have thought for several months I'd loan them that. It gets them out of 40% overdraft - it should be a outlawed to charge so much. The person I gifted and a different person were who I wanted to avoid loans to.
The views are lovely. I enjoyed looking at the twinkling lights. I will probably buy a telescope at some point. Any recommendations? I'm told the views stretch for tens of miles.

Thanks Laura, EH, MF, Dancing, Lelly, TG, Beanie, CCW, Daisy, Blackcats. If I missed anyone 😔 sorry.
I have some rechargeable lights I am using for now.
I nipped to the shop earlier for lunch food and bought some 6 mini pots of primrose and narcissi. I also bought some YS tulips and full price orchid. I had a delivery organised for this evening but realised I had nothing in for DS.
I forgot to eat until late but we had a roast chicken dinner for tea with prepared veg and I have leftovers. that was my first food other than tangerines at breakfast. I now know the dishwasher works and the oven. This house heats better than my last one.
The movers EH were last minute stand ins so didn't have a survey with them. As I say they were really friendly and hardworking overall.
I slept better last night once I got to sleep. My first card arrived yesterday and my buyers gave me chocolates and a card

I've updated my main accounts and CCs. I've told Am**** and Mr A I have moved.
I tried to tell P1p but they cut me off and I lacked the energy to ring back.
If the handyman comes Friday I am hoping he will connect the washing machine, tell me what exhaust vent I need for the dryer and potentially put a hole in the wall for it and change my locks. Plus look at everything that needs doing....

DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Glad everything is going well and the views are good.
Have you encouraged the family member to close the OD so they don't get into the same situation again? The fees are terrible. I was awful for using an OD as the 'available' money was too tempting particularly when things are tight. The best thing I ever did was close it completely. More than any other debt. I've never gone overdrawn since even accidentally, and if it does happen then many accounts have a grace period to transfer funds in the same day before fees kick in."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". That 40% is fairly standard for ODs these days - grim isn't it. Good that you were able to help them out SH - have you also suggested to them that you sit down and go through budgeting with them so the problem doesn't arise again? Sadly the majority of cases where people are "bailed out" of debt with lump sums tend to end up in the debt reoccurring as it bypasses the process for clearing the debts. It's very frustrating all round - I really think better financial education for school children is a must, I understand that it has improved, but it's still a long way off ideal.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks Sandy, Jwil and EH
I have worked through a budget with them and agreed monthly check ins. We've been doing those for 2-3 months. They've had high health related bills recently so while long term they mismanaged their £ since the budget it has been unavoidable health stuff.
Had a counselling appointment today. I have a check in midweek next week that is a short session. She's said I can put in extra at short notice if I need which is nice. I was a bit tearful on the call but think that's exhaustion and adrenaline crash as much as anything. I still like the house there's just so much to do. As you've all reminded me I need to pace myself. Remember to eat and the like...
I rang the handyman to check if he was going to come tomorrow but he said no so I will need to find a reliable, local option. Need to find a cleaner but again feels like there's no point until more is unpacked. Although if I found someone they could help with that.
Trying to focus on my lounge today as it is one of the smallest rooms. (There's a separate open plan L shape to the rear).
I hung a purple hanging basket outside from my last house and I can see it from my lounge. I can see red berries and a flowering primrose. My lavender smelled strongly when I hung it.
My counsellor encouraged me to take Breaks so I may go and look for a garden centre. I could then top up my pots with winter flowers. There's also an area at the front where I'd like to create a border. I can go and look at options.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
