I had no idea the facial recognition issue related to CP as well as ASD.

DS did pop by but for less than ten minutes so I miss him all over again now.

I want to carry on painting - but in practice sat and listened to a story that made me cry instead. Why do we do that to ourselves? I've read it before and seen the related film so I didn't think it would affect me too much but it did. First time I'd had it read to me though - whether that made it more real I don't know. Fantastic writing - about the guy that kept disappearing through time and leaving his wife / future wife behind.

I'm struggling to get the house the right temperature today - don't know why. Dreading my next gas bill - but I can afford it - and right now I'd rather be warm.

I like that book and it always makes me cry as well.  It can be cathartic though!

Hi Beanie - don't worry about it but I prefer the word different to damaged. There are lots of positives from seeing the world differently - even if there are difficulties.

Hi Jwil - yes it was cathartic. It's easy to underestimate our need to release emotion.

Thanks Skint. Yes hopefully it will be from the new place so that will be positive. We're planning to go to a service at a stunning abbey that we only got to peer into from outside last time. We'd like to arrange a tour of that too. We hope to do a graffiti tour and a few other things. We may travel further and go and find a Gr*ff*l0 at a tree place.

I agree. Still hard though. He's quite a few hours away normally so visits require planning and pre-booking.

The weather seems nicer today. I may venture out. It has been dark, rainy and windy for days which hasn't been great.

In exciting news my mortgage company sent me a text this morning to say my mortgage offer has been approved although I need to check out a particular section of the Ts and Cs. No idea if that is just a standard section or specific to the property. Perhaps I should check out the survey report soon...

I managed a fairly major declutter in 2020 and it did massively reduce my stress levels. It made keeping the house tidy much easier but I think just having less things in view helped reduce the mental load. It's crept back up over the last year though so think I need a repeat in 2024.
