Hope you don't get too wet sorting the car out. I never used to use the bus but after living in London and having the apps it is actually ok.
Sounds like you still have some big decisions to make on the house. A dedicated art space might be ideal or would you just spill into the house when that space is filled with different projects. Setting yourself a target of 15 min tidy up time sounds like a good plan. My DG is really tidy whereas I am untidy. Living with her has made me more tidy and I do enjoy it now. Yes it is a pain to put everything away each time to you use it but it saves time when you cannot find it because you did not put it away. Also having a space for everything really is the key so I think that has also helped me not buy stuff as if I cannot see a space to put it I know it will just end up cluttering and now I do enjoy things being tidy. Saying that my desk is a tip but it tucked away in an alcove and in an office so not on display.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Thanks TG and Lucielle - the delivery came early - so ended up dashing upstairs and throwing on a long hoodie!!
I'm not naturally tidy is definitely an understatement when it comes to me.... Right I really had better get sorted for work and login.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well the car just passed it's MOT. It appears I need 2 new front tyres urgently and wheel alignment. They also said my brakes are sticking at the back and getting overly hot. I'll ask my neighbour about that. I stayed at the garage today during the appointment - as it the weather was close to monsoon level in intensity. I worked slightly longer yesterday so did a shorter day today. I'm still in flexi credit which feels novel. I had a nice chat with a co-worker. Looks like this month will be spendier than I had hoped. I had allowed around £250-300 for mot related spend - but it's sadly not going to be enough. Spent £60 on mate's rate service, £45 on MOT. Tyres look likely to be around £160. Then whatever the brakes are...
I rang the chemist as I was running low of a med. They had ordered the prescription on time but struggled to get the med - it was ready though so I went and got it.
It looks like one of my savings pots matures at the end of the month - I thought it was next year. I need to decide whether to stick it in another ISA or look for another regular saver and effectively stooze or pay it off my CC. I like it being separate - especially given this one is labelled 'car'. Will think about it.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Jwil and Blackcats.
I went to a life drawing group tonight. It had a lot more people but was in the same place as last time. The model was also an artist and was fascinated by what everyone had drawn. I managed to leave my sketchbook behind at the class which was very frustrating!! It was a good session though - hopefully I can go back and reclaim my sketches soon.
DS sent me £50 towards the loan I gave him which was a lovely surprise. I'll put that towards my brakes. It seems like he's getting more serious about sorting out his finances.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Promising new about DS stumping up some funds towards the loan …. Let’s hope it continues 😊🤞
What a shame about the sketch book, I hope you can retrieve it easily. I’m glad you enjoyed the session. It must be very interesting to see yourself from others’ perspectives ….KKAs at 15.07.25:

I can't imagine ever wanting to be a model at a life class let alone wanting to see the drawings of myself! Bad enough catching a glimpse in the wardrobe mirror 🥴

Thanks KK and Blackcats.
Still struggling with sleep.
Tonight I started rearranging everything downstairs. My art area had become a dumping ground partly because that space is too dark so I decided to make it a seating area instead.
I've bought an ex-display leather 3 seater power recliner for my front room which should arrive quickly and a new swivel chair. I got an extra £250 knocked off so saved about £1600 compared with RRP so paid £1149 for the two including 5 years insurance. The latter will probably replace a chair in my WFH space. The swivel is soothing. I'll have to pay £50 on top for delivery.
I've moved the Swedish sofa I had to the original art zone where my desk was and put it facing the garden. I've swapped a horizontal cube unit from the dining area and made it vertical instead and put it in the previous art zone and put my wheeled art desk into its space. I've unwrapped a mirror and moved a toy box, console table, some plants etc. I've mainly been using either my front room or the dining table for art do it seemed to make sense.
I'm hoping I can make everything more organised and consolidate some of my belongings and fill some of my cubes by putting more away. Unfortunately I have left it in the terrible before it gets better stage.
I managed to trip my fuses at one point and everything went dark but luckily it was a flip switch to resolve.

I like the sound of the rearrange - the sofa opposite the garden windows will be lovely 😊
Hope the once the rearrange is completed that you enjoy the space more and get more light for your art 😊
