My cleaner pointed out issues with my microwave - cue another £85 spend... Things are peeling that shouldn't be etc. When I get various cashback I'll pay it off my recent spends. That's the hope anyway. I have the £ in savings I'd just prefer to keep it there. My new walking poles have arrived so looking forward to trying them. Will look on utube first. Also need to set up my new tablet but put it on charge for now.
I've filled another wooden planter and planted it up before work and took an extended lunch and put up two short log type fences (which had their own spikes) to create an extended raised bed. There's more to do but making progress. I need to buy some more compost. I've booked a half day off tomorrow as it's due to be great weather. I also have a mammogram first thing but get time back for that. Struggling to focus for work but everyone is in the same boat so being understanding. My relative is out of hospital and having further tests tomorrow.
My diet has suffered this week but trying to compensate with salad and fruit. My blood test had my best cholesterol result that I can remember this week - and my heart health is only 4 years worse than my age so I was pretty pleased with that as it's getting better.

Some good news - I'm starting a free short course on drawing next week. Hopefully that will help me make local contacts/friends and get me out of the house for some structured social and learning. I applied months ago - and they've only just come back to me. But great timing.
Earlier this week I responded to the P1p consultation - very laborious. I pity whoever has to read it. Deadline is I think the 22nd.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thanks LWAP
Well I tried my new Am tablet and keyboard and hated it - so will return it. It is so frustrating as it has it's own really poor browser and app store etc. I'm now wishing I'd looked at better tablet or laptop instead. However from a money point of view - I need to take a step back and review. I'll get around £250 back.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I love my macbook savingholmes. Its my second one, and I used the 12 months interest free option directly from apple. But I'm also everything apple like ladywithaplan so I'm slightly biased. You've reminded me that I do need to get around to selling my old one, as they always seem to keep some resale value."Think of many things, do one"

I don't like the F tablets, the kids have them because they are good value and the kids offering is good, but I went for the fruity option, so I could link it with my phone. It's a world of difference, plus I can get the library books on mine and the F tablet doesn't support it.
Great news about the health markers, that's really positive."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -
