I repeatedly asked for my waist long hair to be cut short. I was allowed shoulder length at around 12 but not allowed to properly cut it short until I was 15 - and even then my Dad said - who said you could do that? I've had the odd year since with long hair but mostly had it in the same style Princess Di popularised - and then gradually went shorter than that as I like it a little spikey and my hair naturally goes that way.
Thankfully - my hairdresser appointment was fine. I ate at the garden centre cafe on the way - prawns and jacket spud and side salad - and then continued my journey. I picked up 4 plant pots at Morries - plastic but they look like a dark glaze mixed with turquoise. After the haircut I went to a few shops before having a coffee takeaway and then setting off home. I couldn't believe C wouldn't let me handle any of the phones. I want to feel how heavy they are in my hand and how well they fit as part of the purchasing decision. What's the point of having phones on display you can't hold? I told the sales guy that but it was a waste of energy - and I didn't have what it took to ask to speak to the manager. The social was okay but my back ached by mid afternoon. As soon as I got in the car I undid my bra...
I was low on fuel so closer to home I filled up and nipped to Mr As for a few bits... Got home very late and my back is still aching but other than that I'm okay. I need to reorganise the fridge though to put some of what I bought away - and I've been home a while now - and had chicken sandwiches for tea - but not had any organising energy... I also need to throw some veg / salad that's past its best - so that requires decisions... I put a load of washing in before I left the house - which I now need to put in the dryer - not had what it takes to do that yet either.
I'm glad I left the house. The garden centre cafe is a real find - and today was the first day I'd got there in time to see their hot meals and they looked amazing. I'm looking forward to when I can eat a less restricted diet. I'm gradually adding 'fattier' stuff back in e.g. some roast beef yesterday and a chocolate bar with nuts today - but still looking at the fat content and trying to limit portion sizes etc. I've not lost any weight this week - I keep gaining and losing the same couple of pounds - which could be due to regaining muscle - but still I'll try and start logging my food again on MFP as it would be good to continue losing weight. I am however enjoying the novelty of eating some foods I hadn't dared try for a couple of months!
DD moved house yesterday and it all sounds like it went well. I sent them a card and RM actually delivered within a couple of days so pleased with that. I sent if via the pig place...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I have faint fantasies that if Mr KK was to die significantly earlier than me, that I would get a really radical haircut - something like the singer in Roxette had but with pink and purple in it. It would probably look awful but it would just be so nice to have something DIFFERENT! 😉

Well in the spirit of refusing to grow old gracefully, my hair colour resembles a carrot & I have been addressed as red a couple of times by strange men in the supermarket. Sorry but I am not going grey, ever behaving my age, going blonde is an even bigger no, dark brown would look like I am wearing a very bad wig. So ginger it is - until it isn't.

I used to dye my hair a burgundy colour with a couple of different shades of copper highlights - so totally with you BM. Now my hair is reddish brown - and the grey helps give it redder highlights!
KK - I don't know the singer you're referring to - perhaps PM me a piccie.
A neighbour told me yesterday that the wind had caught my new roof verge on both sides on the back corners. The roofer has agreed to come back next week and sort it. I hadn't looked up so hadn't noticed. I asked the same neighbour if he minded if I painted our shared fence grey - he said he'd bought grey for his side too - so hopefully it will work out. On the other side I'm due new neighbours in a week so am likely to just paint it when I get to that part of my list!
I did more art this morning before I went out. I feel like I've had a mini-breakthrough this week - drawing mini people but slightly fantasy / whimsical style rather than how people actually look. My journal is increasing being filled with art which is nice but means I'm using it up more quickly. They are £10-15 each and have pretty covers but trying to just see it all as therapy and self-education.
Hope you are having a good weekend where you are.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Glad you had a good day overall. Nice to have the breakthrough with the art as well."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

Thanks Jwil.
Just had the first half dose of my ADHD meds. Will see what difference they make. It should boost my concentration and productivity.
I've lost the 3 and a bit pounds I'd put back on again. I'm definitely on a plateau - need to find a way past it. Hopefully as I get more active that will help.
Today I'm going to mow the back lawn. Depending whether it starts raining after that - I may see if I can work out how to attach the pressure washer to my hose again. Not used it since June. Even if I only get a small part done it will really make the back look a lot better. I can then work my way around the outside of the house over a number of days. I have a stool I can take outside to sit on when needed so it's not too onerous. I'm hoping that if I power wash the wooden steps up to the lawn it will also make them less slippy and therefore safer for me to use.
Then I need to do a mad tidy up as my parents are coming for their first viewing here tomorrow!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Being back on ADHD meds feels great other than the fact I'm tired but not sleeping.
Definitely over did it but pleased with what I got done in the garden. I had a hot shower and took ibuprofen and drank milk after my power washing efforts. Electric blanket on back after also helped.
More left to do another day(s). There are no drainage grates in the back garden (or the front) so that made the job harder. I had to use a brush to try and channel the water towards the front.
Inside I hoovered bed 3, the landing and stairs. I did a washing load and put three lots away. Tidied bedroom 3. Also watched art stuff on tube. Unpacked and packed the dishwasher but not done any other tidying. Had long breaks between stuff.
Yesterday I bought garlic Parmentier potatoes and ate that with leftover chicken and some veg today. Very tasty. I put it on a net so some of the fat got lost in the cooking.
Downstairs needs dedicated effort to make it look good so in all honesty will probably focus on tidying and cleaning the kitchen table, counter and front room. The hoover is back downstairs so hopefully I can hoover. It depends how early my parents come.
The handyman is hoping to return tomorrow. Hopefully he can move the mattress out of the doorway to bed 2 where it is currently wedged! Although if my parents weren't coming I'd prioritise bed assembly as it is the priority is probably the new banisters.
Hope it's not too late when I get to sleep. I've been in bed 90 mins. If I'm still not asleep at 2am, I may go back downstairs and tidy.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
