If it was me I'd try to delay the swap a bit, get past the colder weather and buy time to get properly sorted out before next Winter
That’s exactly what I am going to do … thank you

Still really dont understand why the smets2 meters cannot be pre-configured for e10.

I don't believe the installers have any manual way of configuring them without them talking back to the mother ship. So I doubt they want the extra work and just want it to go straight from the warehouse shelf to the van and then to the meter box.

OVO have been pre-configuring Aclara meters for E10 for some time. They are installed in situations where (a) DCC predicts poor or non-existent WAN and (b) the customer has asked for it. It's probably only current RTS customers who are getting them these days, but the option is there. The problem is partly one of security: only HQ has the required permissions to do things like change tariffs and switching times, so a random installer can't do it. I'm sure there's a whole workshop somewhere in Glasgow busily doing nothing else at vast expense.
    I'm not being lazy ...
    I'm just in energy-saving mode.

@Rosie1001 Surely this is the best thread for you to reply about your EDF problems. There's a post above saying OVO can supply pre-configured meters, so why can't EDF?
Also you posted here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6486217/been-offered-a-smart-meter-on-economy-7/p10 saying they had offered you Economy 10
Surely their last response (that you posted here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/81318645/#Comment_81318645) is a bit contradictory!

I couldn’t find  this post , hence putting on other one …

I got another complaint in with EDF after yesterday… they are giving conflicting advice , and they didn’t turn up yesterday to fit isolation switches which I been waiting for since last November

I read the meters can be preconfigured, but they saying they can’t … it’s a nightmare to get the correct information
