Edf now kind of back tracking saying I may not be able to have eco 10 … so eco 7 with no afternoon boost
I have emailed them to say this is not like for like and it’s not happening

EDF *are* offering you E10, though! They're adding the caveat that if you're in one of those places where the smart meter communication network doesn't work reliably, you might only get E7.Do any of your neighbours have smart meters? Can you ask them if they work "smartly", sending their meter readings automatically to their respective suppliers? If they do, you can be fairly confident that yours will also work.N. They are offering if yes , but …. And that’s the thing
my neighbour only has a gas smart meter , I’ll ask if they have had any issues , i know they had issues on day it was installed0 -
I want a smart meter , I’m not bothered if I get 7 hours or 10 hours , I need a guarantee of an afternoon boost
the guy from Edf isn’t the best to understand hence the emailing back and forth , he’s trying to help but knows nothing about legacy tariffs and meter he said0 -
So why dont they - or the meter fittng subcontractor - power the meter on at their base, configure tariff and ALCS timing registers for e10 - then transport it to the users home address and fit it.There is no need to use 1/2 hrly billing as such for E10 - the timings are on 1/2 hr slots - excluding any meter dither - and the dither / surge protection is IIRC offset is common to both tariff and ALCS tables. In fact like the user on snug unhappy with his 10 min shift - it would be better to use the register method arguably. The weasel words are doing nothing to help them keep a customer who clearly isn't happy with their vanilla e7 7 hr block offering.

Keep it in writing probably wise - maybe useful evidence for any complaint - and interim cost compensation if it does go wrong - for taking a case to Energy Ombudsman.

Octopus standing charge is 69 p for NE region
I got a shock at how much Edf is going to be when my fix ends0 -
Rosie1001 said:An interesting tariff. E10 is Nigh (sic) rate between 8pm and 10pm. But it's also Day rate between 8pm and 10pm. Perhaps the rate alternates 50 times per second? No mention of any rate that applies between 4pm and 8pm. Perhaps it's free and unmetered? 😈0

Hadnt read the second set of times for day - well spotted - it of course should be day 5am - 1pm, 4pm - 8pm (I hope) and 10pm - midnight. The off peak hours match my EM E10 timings - in my case GMT all year round.
