Check with your neighbours or other people in your street if they have a working smart meter. If they do, then the installation will go through commissioning just fine and you'll get your economy 10. Having economy 7 in one single block really wouldn't be the end of the world, but having a non functioning RTS meter may mean you are put on a long waiting list while they get through the backlog of all those who refused a smart meter.

The companies have decided that he safest option is to tell you, and every other customer, the meter will not function correctly after the switch off.  Your particular meter variant may well carry on perfectly normally or worst case it could stop switching completely.  Looking individually at each customer and which variant they have is a major logistical undertaking with a fair chance of telling the customer the wrong thing, if they told you it will be fine and it wasn't who would you be blaming and shouting at to get it changed ?  Your only real safe and sensible option is to get the meter swapped out for a smart meter where there is a greater chance of everything working fine.

I’ve emailed to book a date to change to smart meter today

I just think they could have worded it better , older vulnerable customers will panic and may not know what to do if they not savvy

if this had happened to my mam for instance she would bury her head in the sand !

    That’s my worry for people

If it was me I'd try to delay the swap a bit, get past the colder weather and buy time to get properly sorted out before next Winter

I wouldn't. The demand for meter exchanges is only going to increase as the RTS shutdown approaches, and there are probably still hundreds of thousands of systems to be upgraded before the signal is turned off on 30 June. I know that OVO are hoping to be able to mop up any stragglers before 30 September, but with no guarantee that they'll catch them all before winter sets in. I don't suppose other major suppliers are any further forward, so I'd grasp the first opportunity to get a new meter installed.
    I'm not being lazy ...
    I'm just in energy-saving mode.
