I've not received any email yet, so I followed the link in the email I got yesterday and it took me the the page with today's 5-6pm time on it.

So, no need to wait for the email.

Though I only got my smart meter last week, and my figures only started appearing on the EDF website from yesterday (although the full details are on Loop/Bright etc apps) so I've no idea whether me signing up is actually doing anything since they won't have that much historic data.

Does anyone know what previous data EDF uses? Is it from the same time on previous days, or same time on previous days in previous weeks?

I'm wondering whether to game the system and actually stick my EV on to charge during 5-6pm tonight in the hope that it'll make a difference next time around

I'd charge it between 5 and 6:30pm every day for a couple of weeks. That should return some good savings for future beat the peaks.
  • I was going to say the times change so you’d probably need to be charging it most of peak time to make decent savings but then you’d probably just use more electric in the long run so the savings would be pointless? My thinking anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm still charging with a 3 pin plug while i work out whether its worth us getting a wall charger, so rather than charge it every few days for 6-8 hours, i could charge it every day 2-3 hours :)

I'll be moving over to Octopus soon anyway to get the cheap overnight tariff, but can't move my Gas over due to an ongoing issue that's with the ombudsman, and am a bit reticent to just move elec over as i suspect that might end up with me having to rely on giving gas readings to EDF.

The EDF link from their email is already showing the next one as 5:30-6:30pm tomorrow.

I never received an email about today's event, but did yesterday. Twice.

Currently got the tumble drier going :)

I've participated in all of them.  Though on the first one i was cooking when i remembered.

    1st:  0.16p
    2nd:  £1.01p
    3rd: £1.34p
    4th:  0.76p

If there is rumoured to be 12 of them and i end up with £10 i'll be happy because it's no effort turning things off for an hour or an hour and a half.

Just got the results for 12th December:

    5th: £1.04 .  Saved 0.35kwh
