Just opted in, I will just change my water heating until later in the evening, do some work on my laptop and earn myself some Octopoints, pretty easy free money.
  • My baseline is about 1kWh for this one, and we've got people round for dinner this evening... I'll probably give it a miss.

The streamlit site is failing to load the numbers when I tried it just now.

Rough estimate based on prev sessions we have fed 2.5kwh back to the grid over the 1 hr session and got between £5-6 per session at £2.25 per kWh.

So we would now be looking at something more like £4 for the session.

and it’s rather grim cloudy here so would have to pay SVR to charge the battery before  the saving session.

So all over we would be around £2 up on the day which is worth having. Better than nothing I know.

Have decided not to do it on principle and yes I’ll cut my nose off to spite my own face it’s my choice

Hi, I'm not sure from your post what you are objecting to as a matter of principle? I'd be interested to know what? Thanks, Mike

I’ve alluded to this before on this thread - the average £5-£6 have achieved per previous session is worth it to me to charge (from grid or if fortunate solar) & discharge the battery.

But for £2 im not too bothered due to potentially shortening life of battery - also i have to program the battery, change the smart electrical program times items around the house. And then of course switch it all back after the session ends so I don’t mistakenly discharge to the grid when there’s no session.

Has anyone received their bonus points for the last session?

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

Ah - thanks, that makes sense - I think I read too much into you not doing it on principle. As with all these things, you have to decide whether the return is worth the effort.

My average saving is 0.86kwh  (based on zero usage during a saving session) so £1.50 if I'm lucky this time - shame this session couldn't have been a week or so ago when the cold weather had driven up my normal usage by some way.
Still no WhatsApp notification for this one or bonus from last time

Ye sorry I should have used better language -  i could make £2 but i don’t think 🐙 should reduce the rates.  Most folk are only saving pennies as it is.

I know it’s only 50p more but am jealous of your bonus points - how did you get 900 was that just for the single session?
