I welcome another 5pm session. I had high usage on two days last week as I charged my electric car. Not gaming the system, I'm on Intellegent Octopus so they decide when to charge it. Last week, they decided twice to start charging when I plugged in on my return from work, which was about 16:30.
Like you this is the only thing that is boosting my usage now. Every charge has been daytime on IO in the last 3 months, even now car is charging @7.5p & pushing as much household use as we can, washing tumble dryer...

Even then so far over 4 sessions I have saved a massive 0.33kWh.

Just noticed another session today (14-12) 17:00 to 18:00

I got the alert on Octo-aid when in Tesco. I have the Octopus whatsapp thing enabled, but nothing as yet on that. I've opted in will see if I can persuade our neighbours to get their !!!!!! into gear this time!

I find that Octo-aid  is faster to update with usage stats than the Octopus app!

  • im in got a notification via app on mobile
  • Free Power Up between 1500-1600hrs and then a saving session between 1700-1800hrs.
Works out perfect getting the batteries charged up for free then dumping them!
  • I am opted in - still didn't get notified by either the app or WA though. All my settings seem to say that I should get the notifications, but it's not happening!

Sounds like that must be an experiment to see how much power they can get time-shifted by battery owners, or perhaps to persuade people to bring other usage out of the peak time. The lowest daytime prices on Agile have already gone.

I wish my electric area had these power ups!
PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)

Is the power up thing on the Agile tariff, or is it something else you need to sign up for?
