Not seen mine yet 🙁The_Green_Hornet said:Octopoints have arrived on my account for the 29/11 saving session0 -
67p!
About 50% more for a 50% longer session.0 -
Whoever put it together has clearly done the right things with respect to prior days with sessions. The differences will be due to rounding, +/- 1p is plenty accurate enough!Spoonie_Turtle said:
So it turns out for the first session it overestimated by 8 points, second session under by 8 points. I await Friday's results, looking like the big one (2984 points / £3.73 according to the API)masonic said:
If it did this it would underestimate your baseline and hence your true figures should be better. Due to the way I load-shifted (all into the half hour before each event), I don't think I'll see any appreciable difference either way.Spoonie_Turtle said:
Oooh that's cool! Ours looks spot on for the first session, although I guess the accuracy of subsequent ones depend on whether it accounts for not including the session days in the baseline.cm4ever said:Just found out about this service/app, others may find it useful to get an early indication on what they might end up with results wise: -

I'm glad people are finding it useful and fairly accurate

I don’t trust the data they’re providing. The last couple of sessions last year and both sessions this year they give 0 savings for me. Sure we don’t tend to use a lot of electricity at the savings times on other days but I’ve definitely switched off appliances that would normally be on and using electricity but still get 0. I don’t think the scheme is worth the effort.

I normally use hardly any at peak time, because I'm on the Agile tariff. I've still managed to save 87%, though. Doesn't amount to a lot of cash but I rather having a peaceful hour or so in front of the wood-burner.0

Our average usage over the 16:30 to 18:00 is around .5kWh
on 16th managed a 0.03 kWh saving.
29 & 01 will be around the same.
Anything is better than nothing & no special actions were taken.
Only saving grace is we had some EV charging earlier in the month in that time frame.Life in the slow lane0 -
If you use the API link it gives what that thinks is your baseline and a breakdown for each of the half-hours for each session. Maybe it'll show you what's going on (for this winter anyway).Jonathan987654321 said:I don’t trust the data they’re providing. The readings Octopus uses can be downloaded and checked. It is also possible to independently obtain readings from another source such as Bright. The third possibility of course is that you are mistaken about making savings on those days compared to your in-day adjusted baseline usage. Also worth bearing in mind that this year the savings calculation is different. All I can say is that I checked all of my figures last year against the Ofgem published calculation and they were fine.
