Does anyone know why the "rewards" for helping the grid are so low now ? What is happening to the extra money we used to earn for this ? With a system I invested in I kind of begrudge "helping" if some big organisation is getting the "rewards" we used to get. Sadly I'm no longer bothering as it's effectively costing me money to play.

This time no guaranteed price and the suppliers bid , and NESO decides which are accepted. Octopus has had bids rejected several times even a low as 250/100 kWh 20p to you and me.
Of course the NESO has changed since , not so generous.

Deep seated hatred of Scottish Power and all who sail in her - would love to see Ofgem grow a pair and actually do something about it.0 -
Having proved that the concept works it will be interesting to see the figures on what is actually being saved in this round compared to previous years. I'm still opting in but with a 'reward' of 4p a session it is hardly worth my while and is as much out of habit as anything else. It almost seems as though NESO aren't really that bothered about making it an attractive option.
In all honesty they probably don't need to make it an attractive option any more as the take up now is good enough.0 -
According to the streamlit session calculator ( https://savingsessions.streamlit.app ) 2p for yesterday's, for us
doesn't help that the people who'd normally still be out are at home using electricity because it's half term, so actually I'm shocked we saved anything at all.
