Is it safe to buy a car from a dealership 100 miles away?

I have just discovered the price difference between the two (replacement and invoice ) are not significantly different, however replacement is for 3years, invoice is for 4 years. You can however top up both annually for about £100 per year currently after they have expired. So on that basis thinking replacement car cover, i think! 😬. I now remember why I have kept my previous car for 17 years. Its a bit of a headache!0

Ps the top up means the company will pay you an additional 25 per cent to what your insurance company paid out0

Can you explain why?Stateofart said:force_ten1 said:
there are hundreds of thousands of fleet cars that are registered every year and they never go back to the supplying dealer for service or warranty repair so if what you say is correct then the whole fleet market would be at melting point and its notStateofart said:force_ten1 said:
Definitely true in my case and my Audi. I should have taken it back to the supplier at first, which is my advice.
It doesn't really matter what YOU think. In MY experience, going back to supplier would have solved many issues.

However, just found out that the top up is not guaranteed, so therefore the return to invoice maybe better suited as have a guaranteed 1 year extra!0

Good evening one and all,
I am very pleased to say the car is now in my possession.
I went last wednesday and drove it home, it took 3 hours so was rather harrowing.
nonetheless, it has been garaged all week and today I ventured out on my usual route for the first time.
It seems a very splendid car , and allows you to speak in to instruct the satnav which is marvellous.
It also has a blind spot monitor and a superb 360 degree camera.
It feels very big compared to what I am used to, but am sure I will gradually become used to it.
Thankyou again for all your wonderful help, you have all really helped and am overjoyed and amazed people go to the trouble of helping. Marvellous.

As you say go and look. Ask about warranty and get that in writing if you are happy with the car.GoldenOldy said:Thankyou for all your thoughts. So, its a brand new car.
They are a dealer called John Banks for Hyundai.
We do not have a John Banks near us, but we do have Bristol Street Motors who are a dealer but dont have the car in.
We will go and look at it first.
Just want to make sure local place wouldnt be funny about servicing and warranty etc as we didnt buy it from there, if that makes sense.
Manufacturer warranties are by far the best. In my experience local dealer warranties are not worth the paper they are written on.
Its always best to buy local if possible.

Terrible news. My car, all of 15 days old , will not open via the app or with both sets of key fobs. No electrics have been left on, its safely in my garage. I called the dealership who said to ring the AA. I am devestated. Am thinking of asking for a refund under consumer credit act. If i send it to be looked at, I may miss the 30 day window. Am weeping.0
