    Do get well soon.
  • Thankyou. Ps. Do i go and see it twice, once now and then once to collect it? If i can get this week, i was going to ask them to put dashboard cameras in, therefore i would imagine i will need to inspect it after these have been fitted anyway.?

If it's as described, a new unregistered car, it might not be at the dealerships showroom.
There is a good chance it could sat in a compound somewhere away from the dealership or at another in that dealers chain..

So before traveling, I would advise to ring them and ask if you can come and look at it.
You are going a long way, so make an appointment with the sales team.

Once you have been to look at it and are happy, this it the time to ask about extras (your dashcam).
They will give you a price for the work.
Be clear on the dashcam you want.
Are you going to supply it and they fit it?
Are they to supply it and fit it?
Do you want it hardwired (ie wired in more permanently which is common).

No doubt by now they will tell you when it will be ready to collect.

Once you has all that arranged, you will be expected to leave a deposit.

On the date the car is due to be ready, you will pay the balance and inspect it before driving away.

You will no doubt have to arrange insurance for it on the day of collection, so they can register it and tax it, then you can drive it home.
Some might offer a free 7 days insurance to make the job of registering it and taxing it simpler, but don't count on that.

Dont be.  Hes wrong.  End of.

Don't listen to the above, they don't know me or my experience.  It's been an issue for me in the past and something I always consider.  It was a gearbox failure in a car supplied by JCT600.  I took it to my local JCT600 and everything had to be talked through both dealers, the area manager and the manufacturer.  It took months to sort out and really I should have gone straight back to the supplier.

Oh, Stateofart has worried me now!
don't be worried what he said is not true

Definitely true in my case and my Audi.  I should have taken it back to the supplier at first, which is my advice.

there are hundreds of thousands of fleet cars that are registered every year and they never go back to the supplying dealer for service or warranty repair so if what you say is correct then the whole fleet market would be at melting point and its not

Purchased my BMW without seeing it as it was at another dealer.
I was excited considering it was the exact package i was after, bar the front and rear dashcams which they installed for me at a large discount. Put down a deposit and they transported the car to my local dealership (via truck so mileage didn’t increase) after which I went to my dealership to check over and pay the balance.
I have had the car now for 3.5 years without issue.
Maybe I got lucky, but in hindsight I think it was silly making such a large purchase (over £60k) without actually seeing the car first! Even if you have to travel the 100-odd miles to see it, definitely have a look beforehand.

It doesn't really matter what YOU think.  In MY experience, going back to supplier would have solved many issues.

It might be worth re-reading your first sentence.  Or is your experience so vastly superior to anyone else's?  If so, the floor is yours to demonstrate that superiority.
