Forgot to add I had £97 spent on cat and dog flee & worm treatments for 3 months and also bought dog food £28.

Basically my savings are gone, the plan is spend as little as I can while on holiday and then reasses the situation before deciding if I will sell some stuff to recoup costs. I sold a few items before but the ones left I really like and use everyday (jewellery and watch) so ideally don’t want to sell them.

Anyway onwards and upwards. Into week 3

Can you swap to a different GP? They shouldn't be acting in a way that make you reluctant to talk to them.

For free, non-judgemental debt advice, try: Stepchange or National Debtline. Beware fee charging companies with similar names.

Does your vets not offer a monthly pet plan to help spread the cost a little?

Pets do not need flea and worm treatment every month; we use a natural flea treatment which we just put on their food and the bag lasts ages
Wormer is not a preventative and only needs to be given if they actually have worms

GP s are hard to come by in my area but also there is an element of self neglect as I know I need to revisit a few health issues but at the moment I feel I cannot face it and just plodding along. I will get round to it eventually Xx

Thank you for popping in, I will investigate this. However my cat developed a flea allergy when I didn’t keep on top of it and needed steroid injections so I’m kind of scared to try anything different than what vet suggests Xx

Also I’ve pretty much made a decision to sell some jewellery to pay off the Amex card (800 ish plus more to be put on it due to holiday)

I feel comfortable in my decision and will see if I can go to get it valued tomorrow
  • Hi DFB35, I can completely understand needing to refocus from debt busting to just managing money. I have issues around my weight and stopped weighing for over 2 years as it would lead to a binge eating shame spiral. I am now able to weigh and even when the numbers go the wrong way, I just notice, nod and walk away. It is so important to notice triggers and try to eliminate/reduce these where possible! Love the new weekly budget, good luck!
