I'm not sure whether the chaos is deliberate. I would expect DRO numbers are down and somewhere a government minister is saying that things are getting better.

When I did DROs I always did a final call to my clients so that I could check if there were any changes and do the declarations verbally with them.

Hopefully that's where you are. Could you let us know?
  • @fatbelly

I’ve spoken to so many different people along the process and one lady told me there have been changes recently at the CAB, and she apologised to me.
I will definitely come back and update here as soon as possible.
Thank you for all your help very much appreciated.
  • How are you getting on? This sounds horrendous

I have just been approved my DRO. I had to wait 8 days in total to hear back from them I am not sure what the delay was but I believe it may have been due to one of my creditors which is an energy company that supplies only a limited amount of properties in my area. I could be wrong but I am so relieved to receive the good news today.
@fatbelly The phone call was to go through all my debts as you said and to check over everything.
Because I was so close to the 30k limit the button was pushed and my application was sent over whilst I was on the phone to the guy.
Its definitely been a roller coast of a ride that has had been on the edge at times but I would just like to say thank you so much to all that helped me and answered my questions.
I am now looking forward to a new start and staying debt free.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a very blessed and Happy New Year, Thank you!

How did you receive communication from them? Mine went in Last Friday and I haven't heard anything. The waiting is driving me round the bend
  • @T33totaller mine was submitted on the 5th December and I was informed by the DRO office via email on the 12th December.
Hope you hear back soon if you haven’t already. Good luck.
  • Hi Guys.

I am back for some advice. I was still being chased for 1 of my debts via letter the company is CALBOT FINANCIAL. So I called them to give them my DRO details. However whilst on the call the guy asked me if I used to live at another address but only asked me the door number of the old address nothing else. I asked him why he was asking me this he stated he had other debts in my name. Of course I refused to answer him and he said that's ok you will be hearing from us via letter so I said well I will just ignore you and I put the phone down. This was about 4-5 weeks ago. I have not heard from them since. However I have just been notified via my credit report that there are now 2 new accounts added to my credit report by Calbot Financial. It shows as just new accounts opened and I can only see the last 2 digits for each account. No other details like amount of debt or who they were with originally.
This debts are over 15yrs old at my old address. I know they are status barred and would be for either a credit card, small bank loan or home shopping catalogues. I have never admitted to these debts being mine or been contacted about these debts since I stopped paying them all those years ago.
So how do I go about dealing with these 2 accounts being taken off my credit report and who do I report Calbot Financial to???
    Thanks so much.
  • Sorry I meant these debts are from over 22yrs ago not 15yrs.
