gaudy watch off son.... going straight to next raffle
tea pot for one from other son ...... he knew i had one of these anyway and never use it......... charity shop.
beginners water colour painting set......... i have exihibited paintings so not a beginner and i paint in oils...... gave to youngest son to play with.
but to top it all a voucher for £100 (thats non refundable) from my hubby to be sent in a beauty salon......... great except im a beauty therapist...... dunno what to do with that one ideas appreciated.
everything else was brill though and to be honest im so used to my 2 big sons buying us naff junk that this year we bought them socks and a toaster by way of revenge.
tooties
Maybe your hubby thought you would appreciate being pampered for a change instead of it being the other way round? How old are your sons? I couldn't imagine giving away a pressie one of my kids had given me....:(0 -
My ex bought me Jason Donovan's autobiography.........can't get much more pointless than that! lol

the mil can always be relied on to send totally pointless presents. My living room is cream and brown. She sent dh and me a silk cusion (sp) each mine had a waterfall print and his a brown bear. God only knows what goes on in her mind.
Also her mum sends biscuits of brands i have never heard of so they go straight in the bin.
one year we got a fluffy ducky that had a pull cord once pulled it said "happy easter" it was the funnyest thing we couldnt move for laughing.
I could be here all night on this thread i have over 10 years to think about but i need my bed night all.0 -

What is it about Sarah?
My grandma was the same, but one day she surpassed herself. My sister's name is Valerie, and i'm Jacqueline. She called me Vaseline!! :rotfl:0 -
My youngest son seems to have started a trend with gift buying for me
For my birthday I got a childs set of water colours -some you have to use a hair dryer on and they puff up...........lol (I used to do water colours then stopped for some reason or other)
So among the box of odds and sods he gets at Christmas I got him a clay modelling set with moulds of footballers he can make and paint (he works at an art college)
Today I got a 'sew a teddy' kit...........meant for a child but the teddy is so cute. Might just make it and send it for his birthday in March.
Might sound daft (son is in his mid30's) but it does make gift buying more fun to get and more fun to open....................lol
I got my OH a 'paint your own mug' kit because the demostration mug on the box has his name as the guide name (needs adult supervision - he should be ok at 26 but I'll keep an eye on him just in case) and he got me a 'bake your own snowman kit' in return (I'll make sure I'm supervised when I make that) We also got each other some 'normal' presents too, a TARDIS wardrobe for him and the 'Great Big Glorious Book for Girls' for me spring to mind
And whats with the complaining about Hot water bottles??? I got two this year, one from OH cos we're saving for a mortgage deposit so I rarely put the heating on (that I bought myself and gave him to wrap up) and a smaller one from Next from a friend for taking to work because I work nights and it gets cold in our building. Brilliant
This thread makes me feel grateful for all the well intentioned tat I've got over the years :rolleyes:0 -

Perhaps your husband thought that you need pampering , even though you are a beauty therapist , you can hardly do some things on yourself !!!:rotfl:
My hairdresser's sisters are beauty therapist and are all going to get pampered at a different salon .
I would love that gift !!0 -
