Am I missing something or is the Ulster loyalty saver @ 5.2% a better easy access if you have £5000 or more than any of the ones listed on https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/savings-accounts-best-interest/

    https://www.ulsterbank.co.uk/savings/easy-access-account.html

I must be missing something or is the mse page just not listing it for whatever reason

Nor do I, and whilst I'm at it I always vary the amount in moneyfacts from time to time to make sure I don't miss the likes of the Santander Edge Saver at 7%, Cahoot Sunny Day at 5.2% etc and check for existing member accounts by using the ``Full Search" button and clicking ``Yes" to ``Show existing customer accounts".

There's a section of restricted accounts (e.g. requiring a current account, like this one) below the main easy access listing, and Ulster's product doesn't beat the three rates listed there, albeit it's level with the third:

Aha yes, that is accurate thanks. I already have the santander edge saver, and I dont qualify for the skipton one. I would suggest to MSE this ulster one ranks above cahoot due to the lack of a max deposit, although of course you dont get the good rate at ulster unless you have £5000+. Also noted that two of you dont think the MSE page is the best source to find which are the top accounts available thanks.

I've just noticed Bath BS have opened up their Instant ISA and Instant Access account up to all UK residents, both of which can be opened with £1. Most of Bath BS's products are restricted to people who live, work or study in Bath or are existing Bath BS members with 12 months continuous membership so it could be worth seizing on the opportunity to ``get a foot in the door" so to speak.

Also with the new ISA rules coming into effect next week there are a couple of building societies which have cash ISAs that can be opened by all with £1 whilst their non-ISA accounts have higher minimum balances, these include Mansfield BS and Harpenden BS. There may be others this applies to but I can't think of them off the top of my head.
Have there been any competitive products in the past by Bath BS as the current rates are not very competitive and I am not sure if I want to open yet another account with just £1 in it I may never use (as so many others) if there is no evidence that there were opportunities in the past for this scenario.

Their JISA pays 5.49% and I'm currently enjoying 7.49% on their 16-25 RS, their Homestart RS payed a pretty decent rate when I opened it in 2022, which remained competitive well into 2023, I vaguely recall their other regular saver was listed in the Regular Savings thread a couple of years back and I seem to recall their Instant Access account became quite competitive at some point in late 2022/early 2023.

The fact that they're opening up to a wider pool of members implies they're in need of deposits, so perhaps there may be better rates to come from them in the future. Thanks @Bridlington1.
