I also have a link in my Lloyds account but think it's safer to log into HMRC and just pay a debit from there, no chance of 000s ending up somewhere they shouldn't.
That's a sensible option, I shall bear that in mind and hope to remember to do that at some point. Is such an ingrained habit to pay by FPS didn't think about other methods, just set up a new payee. Thanks :-)

Hurrah today my 1.5% fixed rate saver finally matures.  Anyone else still got money locked away at terrible rates?

Thankfully the last of mine matured last year. I now have a nice set at 5-6% laddered out to 3 years. I suspect going forward I'll be letting these mature into easy access.
  • Got two years on a 4.75%  and 1 year on a 4.3% could be worse :/

    Ouch
I did have a 1 year fix at 0.50% April 21/22 which surprisingly wasn't a terrible idea. None of us can predict the future
  • In March £20K at 1.25% maturing.3 year bond, As others have said seemed a sensible option at the time. That goodness other cash in better paces. but will be glad when it matures.
