    Nope, not me, opened 14th switch 22nd.
    Within 28 days in t&c, guess I will have to be patient.
  • Great timing. My nationwide switch is due to complete on Friday, and seems like they pay out quickly, so should be able to do this one next week, since the DDs are already set up 
    Hi, how long did it take nationwide to pay please? Mine completed on Nov 24th & I want to switch it to Barclays if there's time 🙏

    Banks that charge a fee for the actual current accounts will waiver the fee for the first month as you don't have any option, where Blue Rewards fee is normally optional.

    Reward accounts are not compulsory to hold. Whether you apply for a Santander Edge account directly, a NatWest Select account and then upgrade to Reward, or a standard Barclays Bank Account and then join Blue Rewards, the end result is a current account with benefits.

    The monthly fee for Santander Edge only starts being charged when all the conditions for cashback have been fulfilled for the first time, and the fee is then taken around the same time cashback is paid. This is atypical practice, yet extremely favourable to customers. I don't believe there are any regulatory reasons preventing Santander from operating the Edge account based on calendar months, charging the fee from the calendar month following account opening/upgrading, and collecting the fee on the second working day of each month... if they so desired.

    Anyone else struggling to actually switch? I requested one and got the confirmation letter but never got the direct debit transfer letter, then on the switch day nothing happened. I called the switching out bank and they said they never received a switch instruction. Then I requested the switch again and now I haven't even got the switch confirmation letter. I have done loads of switches and never had this problem before.

    I never got the switch letter from Barclays but I did from Monzo

    Everything went ok and I got the £175

    Apologies if this has been asked previously, I have been trying this evening to open the account using the app, but am unable to find any option to open a new account through the app.

    I have seen another thread where it is mentioned that the new account opening option is only available through the app during the daytime business hours:

    What I do see in the app this evening is an option to "register" using a barclays debit card or a barclaycard credit card. 

    I am an existing barclaycard customer so can go ahead and complete the app registration using my barclaycard. But, I am not sure that after I register for the app using barclaycard, I will then be able to open a new bank account.

    I do use the barclaycard app, but on a different phone. I read on this thread earlier that installing the barclays app on a phone with already existing barclaycard app causes some issues, so I decided to install the barclays app on a completely different phone.

    If you follow the advice to wait until morning, you will be able to sign up as a new customer in the correct app to qualify for the incentive. I didn't bother using a different device for the Barclays app, and eventually got rid of the Barclaycard one (which needed reregistering post-profile merging anyway). Issues will happen wherever the apps are installed.

    my switch goes through today apparently...

    got my £10 cashback or it will be paid shortly as i selected it to be paid to my bank account
