    Hi eveyone.

It's been a while what with work and computer problems but all is settled for now so I thought I would  check in just to let everyone know I'm still alive...and not quite freezing to death - it seems to be getting warmer? Or maybe it's my bad cold making me think it's getting warmer?

Anyway, my own savings are well under way... I've two big tins, one for coppers & small silver and the other one, I'm using exclusively for £2 coins. I'm not really keeping track of what's going in them though, I prefer a surprise.
Mum's house, my inherited house was sold to my nephew just before Christmas for £83k. It was worth more but Mum asked me to sell it to him for a reasonable amount if I didn't want to keep it, so I did that. I haven't gone on a spending spree with the cash, although I'm finally looking forward to a trip to India next month, I used to go once a year, but Covid happened, then Mum got ill. The year after Mum died was awful, as I'm sure many of you may know if you've lost someone close, so it's a holiday I feel I need.

Most of the cash from the sale has gone into a fixed rate savings account as there's no point leaving it in my normal bank account sitting there gaining no interest.

I've lost track of my 'roundups' but nearer the opening date, I will look at my statements to grab a total.

I hope everyone is doing well... I'd love to give Winston a big hug, Wish I could have a pet, alas my landlord wouldn't allow, and it would also be cruel as I work long hours.

Off to tidy my flat - landlord is due a visit soon for an inspection

    Take care everyone :)

    Happy Monday everyone.
The sun is shining here in NW leicestershire, so that's a good start to the week.
Potted £10 from a FB marketplace sale on Saturday and £11.50 from a carboot I did with my sister yesterday.

A very happy Monday, folks, and I hope you had a wonderful weekend apart from the rain on Saturday! :s

Brilliant potting LMD!! Not bad at all as a result of surveys. ☺️

He's a beauty, eh Ant. No you never forget them. I still remember our first Jack Russell, Ginny, from not long after we got married and all the others since. They each had their special traits, bless em.
    Very well potted!!

Hello James 🤗 it's so lovely to hear from you, and seems a long time ago.
It's so warm for the time of year, all brought up from other countries though.
It certainly sounds as though you fulfilled your mum's wishes and sold her house to your nephew very reasonably!

I think you're wise in wanting a surprise in September, the same as most of us. Good for you in deciding to go back to India for a holiday.
Yes, I'm sure many of us have lost loved ones in past years, it's very difficult for quite a time after, but as time goes by we begin to accept their death so it does gradually get easier.

I'm pleased you've managed to get yourself a flat. Apart from your landlord not wanting pets, I think you're very wise not to get a pet when it's going to be left alone for long hours.
Take care of yourself James, see you soon all being well. 🫢

Ooh lucky you madlyn in having the sun in the NW Leicestershire, I think it must be general up north as I was talking to a friend from near Yorkshire earlier and he said it was sunny. It gets a little bit sunny here in Somerset, but is mostly cloudy.
A lovely sumt to put from FB as well as from the car boot sale with your sister! Brilliant potting.

Have a good Monday and Tuesday and a good week ahead folks!

Your nephew must be absolutely thrilled @rancid-a to get his foot on the property ladder, it's so hard today to save the required big deposits and find a property in the right price range. I'm sure your Mum would be very proud 👏 I hope you have am amazing holiday 😊 A lovely sunny day yesterday, but it's back to the rain this morning 😢 another £5 in the pot. Take care everyone ❤
