A very good morning folk, I hope you've all had a good week and are now enjoying a very good weekend!
Whatever you do, wherever you live do please be careful, especially on the roads or pavements. Try to keep warm, not easy I know.
To all those who are poorly or feeling low, I really do hope you're soon feeling much better. Love and best wishes from us all. <3

Not at all bad Hetty,  exchanging £15 for a toy you'd already bought him is a good swap!

I agree with the name Talulah now I've, Siju, especially now I've used it much more, it is a pretty name! I also agree with you about looking back on photos of our treasures, it's wonderful and often brings back memories that we might otherwise have forgotten. I just wish we'd had mobiles and digital cameras back then, as I well recall  taking and paying for a 36 film in only to find so many faults! 😥
Brilliant potting!! Beware of the freeze from here on!!🥶🥶

Enjoy a wonderful weekend everyone. Stay warm and safe!

Crikey Sue your family has been through it. Good that things are starting to settle down and they’re back home. If they’d stayed up this way too long they’d have to start calling her TalulaL, as Bristolians stick random Ls at the end of words, like Brigstowe eventually becoming Bristol  :)
Anyway, I’m sure she’ll be treasured even more after what you’ve all been through.
Wasn’t able to go into the office yesterday as had to take Mum to the dentist, so I’ve potted the money I would have spent on travel.

Where DOES the time go?  Haven't done much potting, other than my Plum account but it's up to about £165 so far.

Thank you all for your lovely replies to my update re: DH - in related news, his consultant called on 29th Dec to confirm and also to say that there were no other instances of disease in his liver and his blood flow was completely normal.  He will be scanned at 3, 6 and then every 12 months.

I'm having - possibly - what a GP called a significant adrenaline crash after the trials of last year.  Anxiety, mainly, which is disconcerting as I'm not an 'anxious' person per se.  My team leader commented that I was never not myself last year, at no point would anyone who didn't know, realise what was going on at home/in the background. Possibly to my current detriment.  On the one hand I feel fine, but ironically since the news from DH's consultant, I do feel like I've hit the wall.  I'm still at work, I can't imagine anything worse than time off inside my own head LOL and my team leaders are very supportive, but I'm just plodding on and putting one foot in front of the other.  I don't think the weather over Xmas helped either, the relentless rain and darkness.  Not that that usually affects me but I guess I'm only human!

Love and light to all xx

    Hello everyone.
I know it doesn't suit everyone, but how nice is this cold spell? I'd much rather have this that the rain we had a few weeks ago.
It's been a very slow start to 2024 potting wise, but on Saturday I broke my duck and potted a £2 coin.

    Stay safe and warm x

Yes Ant, we've been through the wringer a bit this last 2 or 3 months, but getting brighter now as long as the Drs here keep their wits about them! DGD rang them for another lot of the special formula that Talulah needs, but next day nobody had even signed the prescription for her! DGD rang to say she can't give her anything else, not even feed her herself so could they PLEASE ensure it was there the asap! It took  another day until the Dr finally signed the script, they finally got it that evening!! Drs around here are next to useless! 😡

Then our youngest DGS had terrible stomach pain throughout Saturday night, same symptoms as he had about 3 months ago. He was then treated as having a urine infection, a bit odd for a 17 yr old, but...  111 said a Dr would ring within a 1/2 hr, but hadn't bothered 3 hours later. DD & SIL took him to A & E, which although they were terribly busy said they'd get a Dr to see him as he had same symptoms. 2 hrs later he came but thought it appendicitis. Told them to take him back at 9 this morning to a Paediatrician because of his age. No news from our girl yet. About 6 hrs later, and after being on an IV antibiotics for a couple of hours said he will be operated on either later today or tomorrow. T & I are really pleased as who knows when he's next writhing in agony!
I hope your dear mum is feeling ok with her tooth/teeth now.
    Good potting Ant.

    Very nicely done Purplepheonix62!!

What wonderful news about your DH, MrsShazbat!!! 🤗 I'm so thrilled for you both.
Perhaps your potting has been a little slow, but you're doing very well with your Plum saving, so very well done indeed!!
With your so called adrenal crash, were you given that after being tested? All I could think of is that perhaps internally you've suffered during your DH's health problems? A bit strange otherwise unless your kidneys are a little 'off'. However, whatever it is maybe a test further down the line might put the person's mind at ease, I certainly hope so.
Until next time, love and best wishes and take care xx

Hello madlyn! Very well done on starting off with your potting, not so easy these days!
I too far prefer the colder weather than the continual rain before. 🤨
The only problem with the colder weather is folk not being warm enough! Let's hope it's not too cold 🥶 for long, but doesn't get too wet... best of both worlds for us all. 😂

Have a very good week folks, but do keep as warm as possible

Goodness me @Sue-UU you and the family are due a bit of luck soon. Hope your DGS is feeling better soon 💕
Great news about your DH @MrsShazbat but don't be too hard on yourself, you've had a lot of stress and worry. You need to give yourself time to process all that's happened and find time to take care of yourself 💕
Another fiver and some change in the pot this week. Keep wrapping up warm everyone, it's still very chilly out there 🥶🥶🥶

A very good Wednesday folks, I hope you're all enjoying a very good week, though more than a bit cold I don't doubt brrrrr, soon be back with the strong winds and rain! :s ugghhh!

Oh Siju, thank goodness our youngest DGS has now having an operation to remove his badly infected appendix!
They haven't been able to do so until 12.45pm today as on the first day in there they found out he has a rare complaint with his blood not being able to clot. Drs had to send it off to Bristol Infirmary to see what they thought was the problem.

He's a sufferer of Alexander's Blood Disease a rare disease which means it's unable to clot properly due to him not having enough protein in his cells! It's the same problem as he had 3 months ago. During the night DD said he was sweating so much due to the infection of his appendix they needed to put a second cannula in his right arm, but his veins kept collapsing. All they could think of then was to put one in his foot, which they said did.

The consultant came to DD & DGS and told them exactly what the problem was and they would operate today,it would be roughly an hour, we're now awaiting our DD to phone. She's just managed to speak to a Nurse and told he's just gone into Recovery! It's been almost 3 hours, but hopefully soon back on the ward!! It's been a very worrying time with him needing so much antibiotics as well as Diamorphine which has made him ill. DD just managed to speak to someone, he's just gone into Recovery and hopefully back up grinning at her, fingers crossed. I'll be going now Siju berore I'm timed out!!

Have a very good Wednesday folks, Thursday too, but do keep as warm as possible
