My DH went into a hospice for a month to get him stabilised then they sent him home once his pain etc was under control. He then died at home as he wished. He was against it at first but actually it helped him and did him (and me and DS) the world of good.Sealed pot challenge 822

Thanks guys! Should receive the formal offer today and then can progress....
I've had a couple of very small "wins" - sold an item on Vinted for £2 and went through the self-serve at Aldi and someone had left a penny! I also used the remainder of an Amazon voucher I got for Christmas to buy a knitting needle set! I will need to think about which "pot" the rest of the cost comes from though (definitely should have considered that before I purchased!)
I had a fairly productive morning before work today - did my hexi, some washing up and hoovering, washed my hair and walked the pooch! I also did my 30 minute clean last night - which was predominantly spent cleaning the bathroom. I also sorted out one cube of my craft storage unit and got rid of a few bits. Also checked stash for a jumper project I want to make as my first knitted garment - I possibly have enough in the correct weight yarn but it would make a REALLY ugly jumper!!! But at least I've answered the question I had. Tonight my plan is to do another 30 minutes cleaning, including changing the bedding, before I go to acro. I will just grab some toast at some point for my dinner.
So today I have/ will:- Make daily hexi
- Make lunch to take to work
- Update spreadsheet
- 30 minutes cleaning
- Pay lowest amount at acro
Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,555.00
Total paid off - £10,045.89 (64% paid off)0 -
I received the job offer and have accepted!!! Now I just need to brave handing in my notice - which I am dreading! However, financially it will mean roughly an extra £250 per month as well as representing a new challenge/ stage in my life after 9 years (this month) in my current role.
However, bad news is that bf's new car broke down on him! So instead of coming back today as planned, it looks like he's stuck at his dad's until Tuesday! It's one thing after another for him! Thankfully should be covered under the warranty (second-hand car so not a full warranty but covers for 3 months). It did mean that he can't have his kids this weekend but everyone has been understanding and sorted it out. So we will have them next weekend instead - although we had tickets for something for Saturday night so not sure whether I'll go with a friend instead.
I was meant to be going to an acro convention this weekend, so away Friday to Sunday - I had been debating if it was right for me to go or if I should be around for bf. So that problem has gone away but it means I have the pooch this weekend, meaning I definitely can't go now - so at least it made the decision for me! It had cost me £60 for the ticket and £76 for the accommodation (air bnb with acro friends) - it has gone past the refund point so can't get anything back for ticket (and can't expect friends to cover my share). However I did manage to transfer my ticket to someone who offered me £40, so at least that is something back that I wouldn't have otherwise had! FYI - bf has completely forgotten that I'm meant to be away as I hadn't mentioned in light of my indecision, and there is zero point telling him now when it can't be helped.
I possibly could have tried to get someone to have pooch but she is a slightly nervous dog (tends to bark at people to start with) and she has a checkup at the vets tomorrow for her op. I foolishly didn't put her bodysuit on quick enough the other night and now her would looks slightly infected, so reckon she'll get antibiotics. I just don't want to put all of that on someone at last minute, so easier to just accept that I can't go away.
I have already made plans now for Sunday to go to a new cafe about 50 mins away with my "crafty" friends (I'd previously said I couldn't go)! Need to decide whether to drive or join some of them on the train - cost for train is about £14, as opposed to petrol and parking, but would give me company for the journey!
Tonight I might be going to a quiz night with a couple of friends - may treat myself to a beer to celebrate the new job!
Anyway, enough waffle - today's list...- Make daily hexi (last colour from a big project, so that feels like a milestone!)
- Make lunch to take to work
- Update spreadsheet
- Hand in notice!
- Dinner before I go out this evening
Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,555.00

Great news about the job offer and extra pay..! A fresh new challenge too
Shame about the car for BF, hopefully the warranty claim process will be painless..2 -
Notice handed in! Definitely the right move... The thought to find a new job came because of uncertainty I had in January that I might be made redundant - well turns out in January my bosses were having the concerns that they might have to make me redundant! However, they opted not to! So actually this move seems best for everyone! I work in an office with one of my bosses, so would have made for a very difficult 3 months if it went badly!

Glad it went well.
Now to look forward to new beginnings!Debt Free - 4th June 20251 -
Congratulations on the job, and on a great outcome when you handed in your notice, with no awkwardness.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?1 -
Busy-ish morning so only just getting a chance to post! Went to the "quiz" last night... but my friend had got the start time wrong so we just had a drink and chatted! Friend bought me one drink and then I bought another and a packet of crisps (as my dinner!), so spent £5.
Today I am working from home, meaning I had extra time this morning. So I made my daily hexi and walked pooch to the parcel box-thingy to post the vinted parcel off. My friend sent me £40 towards the cost of my ticket for this weekend, so at least that's something I re-couped from the total cost.
However, got my council tax bill and it's "jumping up" - but actually it kind of isn't really! When bf moved in, I lost the single person discount and rather than put the dd amount up, I paid over the full 12 months (instead of 10). So now it is based over 10 months but without the discount. It does mean that it goes from £141 per month to £201!!!
I don't really have any plans tonight/ tomorrow, although there is a friend I want to catch up with. Will probably just pop over to hers though. So don't envisage spending too much over the weekend - I will need to do a small food shop though for things for dinner. Plus pooch has vets later and I think she might need antibiotics as would looks a bit infected!
However, list for today...- Make daily hexi
- Walk pooch to post Vinted parcel
- Update spreadsheet
- Continue knitting with current colour until it runs out!
- Dinner from stores
