Oops I didn't post yesterday - and actually I didn't even update my spreadsheet. Motivation has definitely been lacking this week!
I did have a "good" result with pooch's operation (which she is recovering well from)... firstly they tried persuading me that she needed another test at the cost of £182 which I refused (it was because we can't guarantee that she didn't originate from outside of the UK, but there is absolutely no reason to believe that she did). Then we were originally quoted £300 for the operation, but on the morning the nurse said £230... well when I went to pay it didn't add up right so I questioned it (which I find difficult!) and turns out the nurse had mis-quoted. So it should have been £300 but they honoured the amount she told me on the day - so saved £70! The overall total was £306 - as we had the one additional test and her body suit to stop her getting her wound.
I did attempt to start on the knitted hat but I did it wrong, so pulled it out again (I hadn't got very far before I realised, thankfully), so I plan to attempt it again today! I have been keeping up with my "hexi a day"... however there are so many ends to sew in!!! Maybe once I'm caught up, I will make a new goal to sew in a certain number of ends per day! Have also started on the next colour of my blanket - so I'm doing ok with crafty goals but non-crafty goals haven't seen much action! I think I'm putting off sorting anywhere as they will possibly require more decision making! Maybe I'll do something before I go to acro tonight... maybe!
One of the CC statements had come in, so I paid just over the minimum this morning. Trying to remind myself that it won't be too long until I can start making overpayments again! I did also have to pay for the accommodation for next weekend - going to an acro convention with a few people from my class. I had also spoken to bf about going away (my treat as he paid when we went away in November) in April, however with everything going on with his dad at the moment, we haven't booked anywhere in case it doesn't make sense for us to go away.
Anyway, enough waffle and on to today's bits and bobs...- Make CC payment

Thanks! Pooch seems to be doing ok but have a standard post-op check up later today. I'm working from home again today so that I can take her.
I'm not sure if I mentioned but I have a third stage "interview" tomorrow - 30 minutes with the guy who interviewed me last time, 30 minutes with the owner and then lunch with the team... sounds very positive but still haven't had a formal offer or salary - other than it will be a "meaningful uplift" (plus annual bonus) on my current salary. So I'm off tomorrow as meeting/ interview is at 11 (and is an hour drive away).
I attempted the hat again yesterday but I somehow missed a stitch! I have no idea how to add it back in AND keep the ribbing pattern so need to rip it out again - however, it's all good practice of a new craft! Thankfully I was more successful at acro last night! I did end up paying £10 (not the lower amount of £7) as it was a quiet class and the instructor was holding the machine! I have netball tonight and then might go for a beer with a friend/ team mate who is having a tough time at the moment.
On to today...- Make daily hexi
- Update spreadsheet
- Meals from stores
- Play around with knitting some more
- Sort one area around the house
- Park for free at netball

How did it go ? Waiting with bated breath …..Sealed pot challenge 822
Jan - £176.66 :j1 -
Sorry for the delay! Friday went really well and I got a job offer! However, I am trying to negotiate the salary slightly, so just waiting to hear back re that - so I am also waiting with bated breath! I am currently on £40k and the offer is £45k plus bonus (of roughly £5k per year). However the advertised salary for the role was £40-£60k, so I had no idea where they were going to place me within that banding. We will see what happens.
Bad news is that bf is currently with his dad saying his final goodbyes. He got a call on Saturday to say he should go (5.5 hours away). His dad hasn't passed yet so bf did thankfully make it in time but it's now just the horrible "waiting game". So not sure when bf will be back - he has his kids this weekend so will need to come back for that regardless.
He took me out for dinner to somewhere a bit fancy on Friday night to celebrate and it was bloody lovely! Then Saturday he went off to golf and I went to meet some friends for a walk at a local beauty spot - also treated myself to a tea and cake whilst there. Then got the phone call from bf so I left them and came home to see him briefly before he headed off (he was insistent that I didn't go with him). So I had a quiet Saturday night and cooked some dinner. Sunday was mostly chilled, although I went and did some acro for a few hours, although my head wasn't really in it. Need to tot up all the spends - they were all little, but those are the ones that add up!
Today's bits and bobs...- Make lunch to take to work
- Update spreadsheet
- Pay CC now statement has come in
- Attempt (again!) some knitting at lunch
- Pop to shop on way home for a couple of bits
- Snap receipt
- Dinner from stores
- Do some sort of house work
