That sounds really good from the recruiter!! Annoying about the VAT!!About 28k of debt to deal with…1

I've paid the plumber this morning so my accounts are looking rather empty! Consoling myself that the EF will be topped back up (although not fully funded) next Friday! The invoice said payment within 14 days so I did briefly debate holding off paying until after payday, but that didn't seem fair as I appreciate that waiting on money is never fun!
Really enjoyed pole dancing last night - although bf had a melt down when I got back. I'm not surprised with everything he's got going on, as it needs to come out and he's being incredibly strong. However, his mum has had another strong and is back to completely uncommunicative (she had been making noises) and being fed through a tube.
Bf has his daughter for the weekend, so gets her about 3pm today. I am going to visit a friend tomorrow with another friend - we're going to Bath for the afternoon and then stay at my friend's. I am then planning to go to a memorial type gathering for a friend we lost last year. It's unfortunate that it's this weekend as ideally I'd like to be around for bf but he's insisting I go. I'm hoping I'll get to see his daughter briefly before he drops her back on Sunday and then I think we're going to see his mum (not appropriate for his daughter to see her, so he won't be able to go).
Saturday will involve a bit of spending but I will try to be mindful given the amount I've just had to pay out! Plus my personal spends are a bit low! I do have £120 left in my grocery pot - we have to do a shop for next week but will maximum be in the region of £30, so I may re-allocate some from there. Alternatively I have £70 in my "ad hoc fun" pot plus the buffer in my personal account (it wasn't one I used to cover the boiler). Wow, when I write it down, my budgeting is so complicated - all makes sense to me though!!!
On to today...- Make lunch to take to work
- Update spreadsheet
- Pay for boiler!!! (Ouch)
- Go out at lunch to post merman!!!
- Sort out plans for tomorrow
- Dinner from stores
- Pack bag for weekend
Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,555.00
Total paid off - £10,045.89 (64% paid off)3 -
I have a lot going on in my head right now but I'm going to try keep my waffle to money related matters.
I did have a nice day with my friends on Saturday, although spent more than I'd hoped. Just added everything up and it came to £83.40, which includes train fare, taxi eating out and a few drinks. At the moment I've taken from my "ad hoc" pot, but that does mean an overspend - so I will re-shuffle/ allocate on payday to get it back to £0. I then spent £6 yesterday on a tea and parking for the memorial. I'm going away for an acro workshop in a couple of weeks and one my friends booked an air bnb for all of us, so need him to confirm what we all owe him - will take that from my holiday pot so it's not an issue.
This week I have acro and netball as usual, but nothing else planned. We do have bf's kids again this weekend and so weekend will be revolved around them - it's also his sister and nephews birthdays this week, so suspect we will see them at some point.
Today's bits and bobs...- Make lunch to take to work
- Towels on 30 degree wash
- Update spreadsheet
- Do some knitting at lunch
- Catch up some housework/ sorting
- Go food shopping
- Snap receipt
- Dinner from stores
Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

Few little tasks for the week...
- Finalise budget for March
- Sew button back on coat
- Sort out 3 areas around the house
- Do a bit of knitting daily (to ensure I don't forget what I'm doing)
- Progress crochet blanket

I ended up going with bf to visit his mum last night and then we didn't get back until late as he took me out to dinner to "celebrate"... I spoke to the person who interviewed me and he said they now aren't interviewing anyone else BUT I have to meet the "main guy"/ owner next week where we will discuss salary etc (but that it would be a "meaningful uplift" on my current salary plus bonus). However, he was very transparent with me and there are a few internal matters that need to be ironed out before he would know if they want me to start in June or September - I'm subject to 3 month's notice anyway.
So kind of positive?!
All of that meant I didn't have time to do much at home last and we didn't go food shopping. I was also lazy this morning and brought a meal deal on my way to work, rather than make lunch. Naughty me!
Today's list looks as follows...- Update spreadsheet
- Look at March budget
- Do some knitting at lunch
- Catch up some housework/ sorting
- Go food shopping
- Snap receipts
- Dinner from stores
Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,555.00
Total paid off - £10,045.89 (64% paid off)2 -
Congratulations @twiggy86 - fantastic news re the job.1

That sounds brilliant ! I’d be celebrating too …. Though I’m not sure a meal deal counts 🤣🤣🤣Sealed pot challenge 822

Interviewer texted me to say that the internal workflows had been resolved so take that to mean I'd be looking at a June start date! Waiting to get my holiday approved before I can confirm re going back in next week.
Did the food shop with bf last night - my share was £20, which leaves me with £30 left in the pot. This is after I have deducted the "buffer", meaning I actually had about £100 left in there... probably because we've eaten out too much so that's reflected in the grocery spend! But at least that part of the boiler cost has been covered by this month's budget, so will tweak the budget for March. I also have about £28 left in my personal spends, plus I was able to claim £2.77 cashback for past purchases that had become payable. Any excess left on Friday morning (i.e. payday) will be shuffled into my emergency fund.
I need to get petrol on my way home tonight - have £45 left in that pot but will probably just fill my car right up which will be closer to £65 (which will put a minus figure on the spreadsheet but not my bank account). Although I have a £4.50 clubcard voucher due to expire but I'm not sure if you can use them in the petrol station? Must remember to try! I also have acro tonight, but that will come from my fitness budget - will pay the lower amount of £7. So a few bits of spending today!
Today's list...- Make lunch to take to work
- Claim cashback
- Check date I sent something back for return and consider chasing update/ refund
- Update spreadsheet
- Snap receipt
- Small dinner from stores
- Pay lowest amount at acro
Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,555.00
Total paid off - £10,045.89 (64% paid off)0 -
You can definitely use club card vouchers in the petrol station so I'd use it if it's about to expire.
