Had a fairly productive evening last night! Got back an cut most of the grass - the lead only goes so far and I couldn't get my electrics at the bottom of the garden to work, turns out it was just me being an idiot! However, only realised when I had put the lawn mower away so will finish it tonight. I then cleaned out the tortoises which was overdue! Oh and moved the bits that ex wants that were in the garden to down the side of the house - need to arrange with him to collect at some point! Bf came round and we popped to Aldi for some dinner bits (he paid!) and then came back and he cooked whilst I pottered around sorting out some other bits!
I was going to buy a unit/ bedside table for the spare room, but I realised in my pottering that I have a unit in the utility area which may work short term. However, it is a bit old and tatty so I may move up there tonight and see what I think - could possibly sand and re-paint maybe. I know it is all very new but there is talk of bf moving in to mine in the future (and renting out his flat) - in which case he has furniture that I could utilise and would be a shame to get rid of as it's fairly new, so it would be perfect to use at least some of his stuff in there. But we will see as I don't want to get too ahead of myself!
Today's bits and pieces...- Load of washing on 30 degree cycle
- Make lunch to take to work
- Put tortoises in the garden which means I don't have to have their light on all day
- Update spreadsheet... to reflect a NSD yesterday!
- Snap a couple of receipts
- Continue writing shopping list
- Continue with decluttering
- Pop to shop for a couple of bits (need rice for dinner tonight!)
- Finish cutting the grass and maybe do some de-weeding!
- Chorizo and beef chilli out of the freezer for dinner tonight

Have you tried one of the free groups on Facebook for a bedside table?1

I had looked on there @stymied however I moved the unit up there this morning and looks like a good temporary solution with a bit of tarting up! It seems silly not to utilise it for now and then see how things play out with bf.
I finished cutting the grass last night and then thought I'd make a start on tackling the weeds... well it was very productive and I got the worst of them cleared! I could really do with some gardening gloves as there's a few brambles in there which I wasn't able to properly get out unless I wanted to shred my hands!!! Feels so good to be seeing progress on the house and garden! Although bf keeps telling me off for not accepting his offers of help... feel like I'll have to give him a job soon or he'll get stroppy!
Today I have/ will:- Load of washing on 30 degree quick cycle
- Hang washing on airer
- Move unit upstairs... although will have to move it back downstairs to sand and paint, but it can stay where it is for now until I'm ready for that step! Also found a charger for bf whilst emptying it as he was going to buy one for my house
- Take lunch to work - leftover chilli and rice
- Put tortoises in the garden which means I don't have to have their light on all day
- Update spreadsheet
- Read MSE email
- Work on crochet project at lunch
- Pop to shop for milk and wraps
- Snap receipt
- Maybe sort out the under stairs cupboard if I have time before acro and see if there is anything that can go on fb (I have far too many blankets but also question how many blankets is too many?!?!?)
- Smallish dinner from stores before acro
- Pay lowest amount at acro

My friend texted me this morning to say that her cat had had kittens... just realised that one of the things on my radar to sort through was my towels as a lot are very old and tatty! So just texted if she needs any and she does! I'm working from home tomorrow so will have time to pull them out and have a sort through and then pop round to her.
I also have someone coming to collect one of those stretchy chair covers that I ordered a few years ago but it wasn't any good! After a bit of arguing with the company I got a refund but they didn't have the facility to accept returns so it's been sat around!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

Bf needs to understand you'll ask for help when you need help and that you're enjoying being in a good mental place sorting your life out. If he actually gets stroppy then turf him, ex has not created a vacancy for manchild in your life.
How lovely to be able to contribute the old towels for the new kitties! Make sure to demand a fee of lots of cute pictures 😁
You are doing so brilliantly with your sorting things out and getting things done, please waft some of your achieving vibes over my way!https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase

Wafting away @PennysIntoPounds!!! Oh, bf isn't actually getting stroppy (it was meant to be a laughing face in post!!!) - I think he's just adjusting from having a very demanding ex to being with me who is a determined little thing (only 5'1"!) who likes to prove (only to myself) that I can do things!!!

Had great fun at acro last night - although I think my arms are going to bruise!!! We did some "pops" for the first time which was such fun!!! This morning I signed up to a weekend workshop in August - the first 6 spaces got £10 off... well within 20 minutes of me booking all the discounted places had gone! So pleased I did it straight away, although need to look at my budget and see which pot to use as it wasn't a budgeted for expense (naughty me!!!) - so £89 to account for!
I've been continuing my clearing out - sorted the under stairs cupboard last night which now has much more space! I have to decide what I'm doing with a few things so have kept them out to encourage me to get rid/ organise! Then this morning I pulled out all my towels and have a stack for my friend to have for the kittens - plus found two craft kits that I am unlikely to use which her daughter is having. Also pulled out my bedding - I don't want the sets from when I shared with ex (one has a couple of tears anyway) - and someone on fb was asking for dust sheets so have asked if they want and am just waiting to hear back. Oh and I've texted ex about collecting his stuff - I've been nice and asked if he wants the coal!
Right on to today... I'm working from home but today's bits and pieces:- Load of washing on 30 degree quick wash
- Hang washing on airer
- Put tortoises outside to give them a chance to roam (and saves having their light on!)
- Wax my tash!
- Sort out towels and bedding
- Book discounted workshop space
- Look at budget to account for workshop
- Bag up weeds so dad can take tomorrow when he's here and put in his green bin!
- Lunch and dinner from stores
- Work on crochet project (would like to finish by tomorrow night as seeing the recipient!)
- Continue decluttering
- Park for free at netball - plus friend who I normally meet at the pub before the game isn't playing tonight, so no beer!

Had a look at my budget and decided to use £89 from my "personal spends" pot to cover the cost of the workshop. I'd given myself a bit extra this month thinking I would spend more last weekend, so there was still a decent chunk left in there. So I'm happy that I didn't have to "steal" from anywhere else and found a way to fit it into my budget!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
