Had a semi productive evening last night - albeit not what I intended to do! I realised that my legs could do with a wax and potentially wouldn't have another chance this week... however when I went to do them realised I only had 3 strips!!! So it was very frugal as I had to get the absolute most out each strip! However, they are now passable! That meant by the time I'd put away all the stuff dad had pulled out (he did some painting so he couldn't put back before he went as paint was still wet) and done my legs, it was then time for netball!

I did my good deed and have agreed for someone to stay at mine for the acro workshop in August! They were asking in our whatsapp group so I offered up my spare room - so not money saving for me, but it will be money saving for them as they won't have to pay for a hotel! Oh and speaking of my spare room - my dad offered me a chest of drawers this morning which are nicer than the unit I had moved into there! So he's going to give it a wax up and bring it over!

This evening I'm going to the beach straight from work as bf's work are having a bbq/ games down there. Surprisingly scared about meeting his colleagues! There's only 5 of them so it's not a huge deal - but that also makes it a bigger deal than if there was loads of them somehow!!! Oh and this morning he not only booked tickets for a concert in February, he also texted my best friend to ask if her and her husband want to go!!!

Anyway, that's quite enough waffle - on to today's bits and bobs...
    • Make lunch to take to work
    • Pop tortoises in the garden*
    • Take stuff to get changed into for the beach to save going home again
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Hopefully be able to park for free at the beach - not entirely sure which part they are going to yet though
    • Dinner will be bbq at the beach

    * I put the tortoises out for a little bit yesterday when I got home - well I realised that I hadn't blocked the hole at the bottom of the gate and found one of them under my neighbours car!!!!!!! Thankfully a very very kind lady was walking past as she'd spotted it when walking her dog and came back to find it, so she pointed out to me where it was!!! That particular tortoise is called Loki (after the norse trickster god) for a very good reason!!!  :D

Had a lovely evening down the beach last night! Boss let me finish at 4 so was able to get down there sooner than I thought - just wish I'd worn my swimming costume as it was hotter than I thought it would be! Did have a paddle though!! Managed to park for free (after much driving around!), had a bbq and then me and bf came back to mine to watch the football - so a lovely evening with zero expense!

Tonight is acro - although "formal" classes have stopped for summer. I think what this means is that its more casual meet ups in parks, although instructors will run the classes if they are there. I also think this means it will be free? Well definitely will be if the instructors aren't there! That will be good though, as it will save me £7 per week for a while!

If I have time later, I need to start sorting out the smallest bedroom as dad is going to paint in there on Saturday. If I don't have a chance, I am working from home on Friday so may be able to do it then! I've decided not to list anything on fb this week as my evenings are hectic this week! However, I will continue sorting out and finding stuff that I can list - possibly for the week after next as I'm working from home all week so hopefully can get stuff collected more easily!

    Today's bits and pieces...
    • Take quiche to work for lunch
    • Pop tortoises in the garden
    • Load of washing on 30 degree cycle
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Finalise July budget
    • Hang washing on airer
    • Light dinner from stores
    • Free acro in the park

Oh and I had a quote to replace the blown pane of glass in the living room... £190!!!

It's been like it for years but it does make my very lovely living room look less lovely! Dad has said he'll pay and I can pay him back in the future, but I don't want more debt of any kind if I can help it! At the moment I have £440 in the "house pot" which obviously more than covers it. Plus it looks like I may end the month with about £75 left in my various monthly pots (food, fun, fitness), so I think I'll shuffle that into the house pot to keep it topped up for other upcoming house spends. I was going to split it and use some as a CC overpayment, but I think best to put towards the house at the moment - knowing me I'll change my mind again between now and payday (Friday!)

Definitely worth getting done... you'll appreciate it when the weather changes as 'blown' glass lets in a lot of cold!

Had a super fun evening of acro down the beach! Session was free (as not instructor led) and I managed to park about 10ish minutes away for free. So yesterday ended up being a NSD... although I did order some bits on my next account! I need a new strapless bra as I've lost weight and my current one is so big on me! But of course that escalated into ordering something else! Oops!

The good news is that dad said they will pay for the window! My parents really are too good to me! This means that I will have more money to put towards to sofa bed - which is the main expense for the smallest bedroom. Hopefully this should be enough for the style I want - one of the ones that folds out, rather than pulls out, as the room isn't that big so that style will fit better and is cheaper!!!

I do have a couple of bits I need to get grocery wise tonight (including some beers for the football on Sunday!) so won't be left with the full £75 from my end of month round-ups. Currently have £17 left in "fitness" and £28 in "fun" in addition to the £30 remaining grocery money - so should have at least £50 to throw into the house pot. Proud of what I've achieved this month, as I had the unplanned expense of the acro workshop so to still have money left is great!

On to today's bits and bobs...
    • Load of washing on 30 degree quick cycle
    • Hang washing on airer
    • Put tortoises in the garden for the day (saves having their light on)
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Finalise July budget
    • Remaining quiche for lunch - must remember to bring anything left home as not in the office again until Tuesday!
    • Start on next crochet present
    • Start sorting out spare room ready for painting
    • Speak to neighbour to see if she can give me and bf a lift to the train station on Friday
    • Park for free at netball

    We won 29:18 at netball!!!!

Today is payday!!! I've just done most of my shuffling - annoyingly, something hasn't appeared instantly, so I have to wait to shuffle it to the correct sub-account! It also made me think there was an error in my spreadsheet as the maths wasn't mathing with the amount in my account!! I ended up with £54 in sweep-ups from last month - so I sent £50 to the house pot and the odds to misc savings. I'm off to London this weekend with bf so I have given myself a very generous "London" pot which I may or may not spend, but it will be guilt free! Anything I don't spend will then be rolled over to my weekend away at the end of August as that will save me having to account for spending money in the future (if I don't go wild this weekend that is!) This does mean only paying the minimums on my debts this month but I'm ok with that this month in the knowledge that the debt is continuing to go down rather than growing as it has in the past!!! I'd rather set a generous/ realistic budget that allows me to plan for things!

Working from home today so here's today's bits and bobs...
    • Load of washing on 30 degree quick cycle
    • Hang washing on airer
    • Dad delivered "new to me" chest of drawers
    • Put tortoises in the garden for the day if it brightens up
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Shuffle money as per budget
    • Keep note in my phone of bits still needed to pack so I don't forget (e.g. toothbrush!)
    • Remaining quiche for lunch
    • Ask neighbour for a lift to train station
    • Take drink for train

If the bank transactions don't seem to have gone right have you noticed that several of the banks are having issues today, perhaps worth a check through, just in case.
