Oh and I also got sent my hours for the festival I'm working at in a few weeks - not as many as I thought it would so will earn less. Thought it would be the full weekend but its only Friday night and Saturday 2pm-close. However working on the bar with a friend so it will be a laugh, less tiring and I will earn something at least! I had been considering taking the Monday off my actual job but I won't need to now so can save that day's holiday for something more fun!

I think as you have been specifically invited to the funeral by your ex’s mum then if you would like to go then you should. She obviously thinks highly of you to invite you and I presume your ex’s dad did too and you got on with him. I’m presuming your ex and his sister will be aware you have been invited and are likely to attend so I wouldn’t think there would be any scenes.

I didn't keep up with your attendance decision, but  I've just been to the funeral service of a dear uncle. SURELY no-one should be "clocking" who is there (and who isn't)
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

I did go to the funeral yesterday and I'm pleased I did. There weren't any scenes and it seemed that my attendance was appreciated as he did think a lot of me, as I did him.

I have someone coming to replace the glass in the living room this morning - only been cloudy for 10 years!!! Parents have said they are paying though - they are too good to me!

    Today's bit and pieces:
    • Wash bedding on 30 degree quick wash
    • Make CC payment
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Pop to shop for milk and a couple of other bits
    • Snap receipt
    • Continue sorting bits around the house
    • Lunch and dinner from stores
Hmmm - seems a short list, but I will look for any other MSE things I can do!

    Happy Monday all!!!

Had a good, frugal weekend! Spent some money buying bits for dinner on Saturday and then £10 yesterday for acro - £5 parking and £5 towards the room hire as a bunch of us met up, so no instructors to pay. Would have met in the park but they gave the weather rubbish. I did some really fun things though!!! And it is moves I need to work on ahead of the workshop next month, so that's good! Oh and I dyed my hair last night (already had the dye) as it was making me feel horrible with the faded red, grey roots combo that I had going on!

This week involves going to see the circus on Wednesday and going to see a show in London on Friday with friends! Theatre and train tickets already purchased - so just money for some food required, which is already budgeted for. I think I'm working from home all week as we're moving offices, although may go in towards the end of the week if everything is ready.

    Today's bits and pieces...
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Shuffle some money to correct accounts
    • Snap some receipts
    • Set up a payment in zipzero
    • Possibly do a load of washing on 30 degree quick cycle but need to check if there's a worthwhile amount - will hang on airer if I do
    • Photo and list some items for free on fb
    • Continue sofa bed research
    • Lunch from stores
    • Believe bf is cooking me dinner tonight!

    Posting for accountability!

I have listed 6 things on an FB page for free (had a message about one already - to be collected tomorrow) and asked my dad if he wanted some garden twine, which he did! Ooooo and just remembered something else I was going to list so I'll nip off to do that in a sec! EDIT - remembered another thing as well, so that's 8 things listed! Not getting me any money but getting rid of my "clutter" to good homes!

Also had an offer for something on Vinted for 50p less than the whopping £2 list price!!! I've accepted and also sent an offer to someone else who had liked something - only 50p less but may do the trick! I've had the stuff listed on there for ages so surprised to have a bit of interest tbh!

    Thanks @birdsfoottrefoil!

So 'quite' big news... I think bf is moving in! I know it's quick but it doesn't feel it, it actually feels really natural. It's obviously a bigger step for him as involves him moving - but he owns his own flat which he will keep and rent out in the future. Yes it means double bills for a while but we need to give it a testing period so if it doesn't work out before he then rents out then at least he can simply move back - of course I hope it does work but being pragmatic. He's here a lot of the time anyway, other than the nights I'm busy so it doesn't really feel like much of a step. For context I have a 3 bed house, whereas he has a 1 bed flat which is why he would move here.

Last night he cooked me dinner and then spent some time planning out the spare bedroom. Was useful as helped me decide the size sofa bed that will work best - I was trying/ hoping to fit a double in there but looks like a single would be best without crowding the room too much. So I'm going to spend some time looking for one today and hopefully get it ordered. (Will go via TCB if poss.)

Re decluttering - three things have been collected, another three things are meant to be going later today and mum is going to look at some recipe books to see if she wants any before I pop on FB.

    Today's bits and pieces...
    • Make CC payments now statements have landed
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Set up a payment in zipzero (didn't do yesterday!)
    • Load of washing on 30 degree quick wash
    • Hang washing on airer
    • Continue sofa bed research
    • Lunch from stores
    • Pop to Aldi for something for dinner
    • Snap receipt

Well, that's nice news, @twiggy86. Hope it works out for you. Mr F moved in with me after less than 4 months of being together (though we knew each other for about a year before that) so length of a relationship doesn't have to matter as much as instinctively feeling it's the right thing.

Thanks for sharing @foxgloves, that's good to hear. Maybe I'd be more reticent if it couldn't be "undone" as simply - but instinctively it feels like the right move! x
