It's finally payday!!!
I have started the day by doing all the sweep ups from my accounts and have added £121.08 back into the "misc" savings. This is after I booked some tickets for the circus for July - we opted for a Wednesday night as there was an offer so was only £7.69 each (this will be my treat to bf). A few people I know went last year and it's meant to be incredible! Also booking tickets to see a medium with a friend who lost her husband last year and mentioned a while ago that she wanted to go.
At the moment I have decided to top up/ leave the excess in the misc savings rather than throw at the CC. I decided I can always change my mind and pay off the CC at a later date, but given that summer is looking a bit more expensive I think it's best to have the reserve pot. Given how last summer turned out for me, I just want to have some exciting things lined up - although I will be mindful of what I'm spending. Well that's this mornings view anyway - next week I'll probably want all my debts cleared asap, but for now (although I do want them gone) I will leave them just ticking over at the minimums and give myself and extra "fun fund"!!!
Oh and I had an email yesterday from my energy supplier and they're reducing my DD by nearly £30 a month from next month! If I'd known I would have requested a bit extra in the refund, but never mind!
So on to today's bits and pieces:- Working from home so no petrol costs
- Continue wearing my Dr Marten sandals with socks around the house
- Finalise June budget
- Book cheap circus tickets
- Do sweep up of accounts
- Shuffle money to correct accounts
- Text friend re money for medium night tickets
- Pop tortoises in the garden if it brightens up!
- Look for free/ cheap things to in London
- Lunch and dinner from stores - lunch will be a leftover burger in a wrap!
- Tint my eyebrows
- Share lift to acro tonight as it's 40 mins away - will contribute £3 petrol (standing deal we have)

The only time I visited a medium was at a garden party for the local hospice. I went with my niece. We both have red hair. The medium made the mistake thinking that niece was my daughter, so the predictions were hilarious. We both managed to hold our laughter until we left her tent. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?2

Lots of galleries have free exhibitions too and worth checking their What's On pages as some have later openings, and sometimes free talks. Wellcome is I think always free, worth seeing if they have something on that looks interesting as their exhibitions are quite small so not too draining if you're doing other stuff with your day. Gresham has superb lecturers and a real variety of talks, and does lunchtime and early eve ones. Have a look at any exhibs or associated activities or talks soon though as they usually require advance booking. National Gallery is good for a random evening free cultural event but all just depends what's on when you're aroundhttps://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase

@PennysIntoPounds
I had a lovely weekend and spent very little - actually only £4 on some parking! Went for lunch on the quay (bf paid) and then went crabbing with him and his daughter. Then went to the beach with some friends yesterday and managed to park for free - took a packed lunch with me as well. Was meant to be going for dinner with bf (which would have been my treat) last night but he wasn't feeling great - so instead I threw together a "what the heck have I got in the fridge" dinner which resulted in homemade mac and cheese with a side salad!
No acro classes this week so that will save me some pennies - however I am playing an extra game of netball tonight.
Back working in the office as usual now, so today's bits and pieces...- Claim £3.64 from TCB
- Make lunch to take to work
- Dad at mine trying to work out why shower is leaking - although he's just texted to say he ran the shower for ages (not money saving!!!) but everything stayed dry! More investigation required!
- Update spreadsheet
- Print out some LOA forms at work for someone and check to ensure everything is correct!
- Work out meal plan for the week
- Finalise shopping list - I need quite a lot of non-food things too as haven't done a "proper shop" for a while!
- Shop to list
- Snap receipt
- Quick dinner when I'm back from netball

Morning cherubs!!!
Had a great game of netball last night! I was a little bit nervous as was playing my original position which I haven't played in absolutely ages, plus the team I was subbing for are good, so was feeling a bit of pressure! However, I played really well actually! So much so, they asked if I could play again next week - but I have plans to see a medium with a friend so can't - good confidence boost though!!!
I dropped a birthday card off at a friend's on my way back then came back and got stuck into some house sorting! I realised that I have a 3 bedroom house but only one bed! (Well assembled bed anyway!) So given that it looks unlikely that I intend to get a lodger, I decided yesterday that I want to get a new double bed for the second bedroom and will move my office desk into there. I had been thinking that I needed to fully kit out the room (i.e. wardrobe, chest of drawers etc) but actually if it is only a spare guest room, all that is required is a bed! So last night I moved the old, disassembled bed into what is currently my office so that the second bedroom is clear. I don't want the current bed as it has quite a chunky lip around it and the shape of the room means it's just too much of a squeeze that it looks wrong/too big! However, I will be keeping the mattress so only need a frame. I was tempted to move the desk into there at the same time, but given that the room is currently clear I will clean the carpet first - plus it gives more space to assemble the new bed once I order one.
So once the second bedroom is done and my desk is out of the third small bedroom (it is very small) I am going to get a sofa bed for there and turn it into a little "snug" type room! I will need to get rid of the bed and a few other bits of furniture which have been dumped in there (like a TV unit) and then it can be painted - already have the paint but will need to buy anything else to kit it out.
Once all that was done I couldn't be bothered to eat - money saving but not the healthiest choice!!!
Anyway, on to today's bits and pieces...- Load of washing on 30 degree quick wash
- Make lunch to take to work - including some banana and strawberries that are starting to go soft
- Check CCs - one statement had come in
- Make CC payment
- Update spreadsheet
- Snap receipt that I forgot to do yesterday
- Print forms that I didn't do yesterday
- Get bf to help me FINALLY put the last of the xmas decs away (I'm really short and can't reach the loft ladder even if stood on a chair!!!)
- Cooking dinner for me and bf tonight

I've woken up in a bit of a funk today - it is a year ago today that I uncovered ex's cheating, so I wondered how I would feel. I'm trying not to dwell and look at the positives and what I've gained in the past year though.
In more positive news, yesterday I received the £200 refund from energy supplier plus £100 from parents - they said ages ago that they had some money for me (part of a very delayed life insurance payout my dad received re his dad) which they have been using towards the DIY dad has been carrying out and this was what was left. So that £300 has been put in the "house pot" to help with my plans for the bedrooms. There's £610 sat in there now, which I'm hoping will be enough to complete what I want to do.
Also yesterday was a NSD!
Today's bits and bobs include...- Make lunch to take to work - leftover fajita from last night
- Shuffle money that I've received to correct account
- Update spreadsheet
- Snap receipt that I still haven't done!
- Print forms that I also still haven't done!!!
- Possibly take myself for a short walk at lunch
- Put boxes up in loft now that bf has got ladder down for me
- No acro tonight - so no spend there
- Think bf is cooking me dinner

Ok to help lift my mood I have just ordered a bed - something for the future rather than dwelling on the past. I went through TCB and had a cashback offer available through my bank, so that will be a little bit back at some point in the future!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
