And now today's bits and bobs:
    • Take lunch to work - leftover pizza!
    • Dad is at mine doing various bits today
    • Update spreadsheet with weekend's spends (very minimal I'm pleased to report!)
    • Post 3 V*nted parcels
    • Write meal plan (I'm out a couple of nights this week)
    • Write shopping list
    • Shop to list!
    • Possibly clean out second fridge
    • Wash hair and let dry naturally
    • Work on crochet blanket
    Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
    Current debt - £5,935.00
Total paid off - £9,665.89 (61% paid off)
  • That all sounds super productive!
Is there any chance of your ex giving you a few quid towards the mattress as you may need to buy one and they're not cheap?

I've had a bit of a spendy time since yesterday - all within budget though!

Went food shopping last night and spent just over £20 (although I will need to grab a couple of bits during the week, such as milk). I managed to use some cash that was in my purse and the paid the rest on card - but I have shuffled the £6.87 that I used in coins from the food budget into misc savings. That pot now has nearly £1,400 in it! So whilst I don't feel like I'm making progress as I'm not paying it off the debt, it is adding up!

I've just been to the dentist this morning and pleased to report that my teeth have all come with me again! It cost £103 for dentist and hygienist but I save £20 monthly so had it all set aside already! And actually have £17 left over - will decide whether to leave it in that pot or shuffle it somewhere else.

I have paid £36 to my friend for her birthday brunch next month - I'm pleased that the cost has come out of this month as I have a few plans next month so at least it effectively spreads the cost!

And now today's bits and bobs:
    • Take lunch to work
    • Dad is at mine again doing various bits today
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Work on crochet present at lunch
    • Collect parcel on way home
    • Take homemade burgers out of freezer for dinner tomorrow
    • Find out receipts for bits I need to return
    • Dinner at a friend's tonight!

Can you not get a dental plan with your dentist? Should work out cheaper than £103 every 6 months?

  • That's the great thing about having budget pots - you can have a spendy day and relax 'cos it's all covered. I know it sounds a bit much, but it's kinda liberating :)

Had a lovely evening round my friends last night - even better that she fed me! So it was a case of walk through the door from work, try on some rather snazzy trousers that I got from V*nted (love them), get changed (I thought multicolored striped trousers were a bit OTT for a casual Tuesday night cuppa!), go to friends, get home, get into bed!

My dad had been at mine yesterday and fitted the shelves in the living room - so I really wanted to arrange my ornaments on them last night but didn't have a chance! He did put them more spaced out than I had envisioned so I will need to get some taller ornaments to go them (I needed to get more bits anyway). Can't wait to get them finished as it has already made the living room feel more homely and they need painting yet too!

    Today's bits and bobs:
    • Take burgers out of freezer for dinner tonight (forgot to do last night)
    • Take leftover macaroni cheese to work for lunch
    • Take receipts and bedding to work so I can return on my way home - annoyingly I can't find one of the receipts so I may end up with two new pillows if I can't locate it! Thankfully that was the only thing on the missing receipt
    • Book something for next month with friend
    • Text friends about upcoming plans to see if they're definitely going ahead or not - looks like one thing is being moved to later in the year, which is good as I'll have less to pay out in the next month
    • Return bits on way home (I hate returning multiple things, especially when they're bulky like pillows and a duvet as it seems like you're being a real pain in my mind!)
    • Play around with ornaments
    • Have another hunt for missing receipt
    • Dinner from stores
    • Work on some type of crochet this evening - possibly my blanket as may be able to finish it this week... however the closer I get to finishing means the closer I'm getting to having to weave in ends! :)

Grrr - I've just really annoyed myself! I have to drive down a fairly narrow alley to work carpark and I just scraped my wing mirror!!! Not a big deal but really peeved!

On to more positive things... I took the bedding back last night and managed to get a refund. Haven't found the receipt for the other pillows, however just mentioned to boss and he wants them so will give me the money. Think they were £8 but will look at the other receipt (I had to get them across two different branches of the same shop so I know how much they were). I then got home and put various bits and bobs on my new shelves - more things required, including some taller bits but they are already looking great! Then it was dinner and crochet in front of the TV!

    Today's bits and bobs:
    • Make lunch to take to work
    • Had another look for receipt but now don't need to worry about it!
    • Pop some change in my purse - plan to use it on a couple of bits I need from the shop and will then transfer from the grocery budget to the "misc savings" pot
    • Claim balance from V*nted and transfer to misc savings
    • Pop to shop for a couple of bits
    • Small dinner before netball
    • Netball tonight but already budgeted for

We won AGAIN at netball last night!!! Think we've already won more games this season that we've won in any previous season and there's still 3 games to go!

I did have a bit of a mini-drama when I got home last night... had a shower fine and then was downstairs and could hear faint dripping so assumed I hadn't fully turned shower off. As I was going up to bed imminently I couldn't be bothered to move. Anyway, made myself a drink before going upstairs and thought "that's strange, the water pressure seems incredibly high". Well I got upstairs and the shower was spurting out water from somewhere water shouldn't be coming from! So I turned the water off and prayed it would be ok this morning! Spoke to dad this morning as he was coming round to do some bits so he's going to look at it - however according to FB it wasn't a "me" problem and lots of people had high water pressure issues!

Anyway, on to today's bits and bobs:
    • Make lunch to take to work
    • Annoying forget to bring pillows to work, so will have to do that on Monday
    • Hope dad can fix any plumbing issue!
    • Update spreadsheet - managed to use £7 of change in Ald* last night so I shuffled that from the food account into the misc savings account
    • Signed up for a game of netball next Wednesday - we don't have a game next week but I had budgeted for one!
    • Claim anything that becomes payable from V*nted
    • Make some (possibly slightly cheeky) offers on some things I want from V*nted
    • I'm at my stitch night tonight but need to decide what to do about food as I'm probably not going home beforehand - do I treat myself to dinner out?
Waiting to hear from ex but hopefully I will have pooch this weekend - if so I will pretty much be at home all weekend as I'm not sure how unsettled he'll be. We are trialing me having him for the weekend to see if it stresses him out coming backwards and forwards. He is better off being with ex full time as he won't be left alone for as long with him (ex is living with his mum, plus his sister lives there too) but I would love to have some sort of "access" if possible.

Another chilled weekend - mainly spent at home with my pooch! I picked him up on Saturday morning and then dropped him back today before work. Was nice to go for some walks again - which I know I could do without him but it feels odd! He was a bit unsettled for a while on Saturday but then was fine, so seems like it may work with me having him some of the time. Although my diary is fairly full for the next month and at the moment I don't really want to be leaving him alone too much - 1)  because I'm worried about him being unsettled and 2) it defies the point of me having him if I won't actually see him!

I spent a bit too much at stitch night on Friday, but I had a lovely evening. I did treat myself to dinner but it also cost me £10 to park - if it wasn't so dark I would have parked for free and walk the 10 minutes but didn't fancy that late at night.

As I said, the rest of the weekend was spent chilling with the pooch doing some crafting! I didn't finish the present - I'm procrastinating on this as I'm at the part which involves stitching all the pieces together (the worst part!). However, I did finish a pillow cover and have almost finished my blanket. I also picked up a cross stitch that I started ages ago... however I made a mistake and had to unpick most of it! So I abandoned it at that point!

    My aims this week are:
    • Finish crochet present
    • Sort out utility area once ex has taken his stuff (should be Thursday/ Friday)
    • Create form required to ease helping someone with power of attorney forms
    • Start thinking about final things that need to happen before I can advertise for a lodger
