Thanks @PennysIntoPounds - it was fine! We are potentially meeting on Saturday morning for a walk with the pooch and a chat.

  • Ah good. Revise what you're going to say if he starts going on about you owing him thousands of pounds again!

I had a good result last night - popped into H0me Sense for a nose at the bedding as I have been looking at getting new bedding for myself (as a way of putting "distance" between my bedroom and ex). Well I had found a set online which I loved - it was reduced from £90 to £45 and I was pretty set on getting it but hadn't purchased it yet as still seemed expensive. Well they had the exact same set in H0me Sense for £28! Bedding has been put in the wash this morning and can't wait to get it on however I now need to pick up a new bottom sheet and a couple of pillow cases.

Last night was fairly productive overall although I completely forgot about making soup! The "lodger's cupboards" are now completely empty and been cleaned out. I also had time to start sorting out in the utility - there's a "junk" cupboard, so I went through that which involved finding a few  of ex's things, a lot of stuff for the bin and a few bits worth keeping. There was an open bag of bird seed in there which of course had spilled everywhere! So that has now all been cleaned out and semi re-organised! (Established I need a better storage solution but will do for now!)

    On to today:
    • Finish putting everything back in the "junk/ random objects" cupboard
    • General tidy and hoover in the utility area
    • Mop kitchen floor
    • Put bedding on eco wash setting
    • Make lunch to take to work - opted to leave the leftover stir fry for tomorrow's lunch as I am out tomorrow evening for a "cheese night" round a friends, so at least this way I eat a proper meal at some point in the day!
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Look online for good place for fitted sheet - I have a mattress topper on the bed so need a deep sheet
    • I had some money owed to me for netball so have a "free" game tonight - so have transferred the budgeted money to misc savings pot
    • Look at what was on meal plan for dinner tomorrow to see if I need to re-shuffle things as I now won't be eating it (It was only frozen pizza so can save for another time)
    • Google what I can do to help re-shape the shoes!
    • Work on crochet present at lunch
    • Dinner from stores
    • Possibly make soup if I have enough time before netball
    • Put oven cleaner product in oven - my lovely mum is coming to finish cleaning the oven tomorrow
    • Wash hair after netball and let dry naturally
Wow - that looks like a long list! Clearly my pre-work productivity hasn't diminished yet! (Not that I've done any actual work yet!)

    Thanks @Floss - I may take a look there!

Good result - I sold another item on V*nted so that will be a staggering £2 to me! I may post on the way to netball if I have time. I've also found a website that you can send foreign coins to, will have to see what I've got at home (I've found a few in my sorting) to work out if it's worth doing or if it will cost me more in postage! Oh and apparently a hair dryer may do the trick on the shoes!

My favourite soup is super easy. A bag of frozen casserole mix (veggies), a tin of tomatoes, a tin of mixed taco beans (Aldi), a shake of whichever dried herbs you fancy, a veg stock cube. Boil everything up with about 2 litres of water for anything from half an hour to an hour. Blitz. add a dash of lemon juice and you're done.

I used to make this, plus a leek, spinach and potato soup, for a group of people last winter, and it always went down well.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

    Happy Friday!

We won at netball last night! That's two weeks in a row (which I think is possibly a first!) I managed to make the soup before I headed out too - made up three portions, so will have one for lunch tomorrow probably (with a homemade sour dough loaf made by my boss) and pop two in the freezer.

    Today's bits and bobs:
    • Finally had enough for a load of washing so put that on an eco wash setting
    • Take leftover stirfry to work for lunch
    • Go via TCB to order some sheets for click and collect - will get on my way home as I go past the shop
    • Mum is currently cleaning my oven - love her!
    • Work on crochet present at lunch
    • Hang washing on airer
    • Meant to be going round a friends tonight for cheese and wine - although I don't like wine so will just be cheese! So no dinner from home required but will need to check if I need to bring anything
    • Forget to bring the V*nted parcel to work with me, so will aim to post when I go to friend's later

I'm back from a fairly relaxing weekend!

I went to a friend's on Friday night for cheese and chat! I raided the cupboards and took some snacks with me so I didn't turn up empty handed - and uneaten snacks were bought home again.

I then met up with ex on Saturday and got to see my pooch!!! Ex didn't make any mention of money - although I did comment that I needed him to clear his bits so that a lodger will be able to get to the second fridge (which will be their fridge) before I could do get someone in, so maybe he's waiting until then to bring it up again. I did offer him the bed that I'm getting rid off - he said yes but would like the mattress too. Which means that actually the room will be completely empty - so I have decided to see if I can get a lodger for an unfurnished room, rather than paying out for all new furnishings. It was one thing when I only needed a few bits, but seems silly not to try get someone in this way and if there's no takers, then I will pay out for things needed to furnish it. Of course, I did trawl to 3 different shops last week to get duvet, pillows etc which I now need to return!

Yesterday I ended up going round another friend's for dinner - and actually I'm going to ANOTHER friend's for dinner tomorrow night! Apparently people want to feed you when you're single! :)

I also sold 3 of the items I listed on V*nted over the weekend, making another £12.50! Plus I managed to get the change into the bank! The other "money making" thing was that I've been offered work on a bar at local festival thing in July, which I believe is in the region of £250 for the weekend. So that will be good to have the extra money - especially as I've got a few potential plans in the works with friends over the summer. E.g. a show in London which will mean spending!

Right enough waffle! Although I'll be back in a sec with my weekly aims!

    • Return now unnecessary bedding
    • Continue sorting out utility area (to extent possible with ex's bits still in there)
    • Consider potential upcoming plans and costs
