First Ever Parking Charge Notice

Dear all, I have read through the newbies thread but I'm still lacking confidence and would like some guidance/support please.
I have received a PCN in the post claiming that my car spent nearly 3 hours in a car park which the letter states is over the time limit for St. John's Retail park, which has a lot of different shops including Bensons for Beds, Currys, Costa Coffee, Homesense, Hobbycraft and much more.
On the day, nobody noticed any signage and it is ANPR that the letter uses to track the timings of my car going in and out, but having not seen signage on the date stated by the letter, I revisited the car park to check signs. There are signs in retrospect but clearly there weren't enough of them to be visible from where the car was parked. The signs say 2.5 hours maximum parking, the letter states just under 3 hours was the time of the car in going in and out of the car park.
1. My question is, do I have grounds to appeal?
2. If yes, should I go online to the Group Nexus website or should I have sent a letter? I only have a couple of days left until the £60 becomes £100.
3. If I do have grounds to appeal, how should I do so?
Thanking you all in advance.

Do you think that will work? Should I appeal it using the website they stated in the letter, www.appealpcn.co.uk?

I don't know, I'm feeling a bit anxious about it all, but if you and coupon mad think it's worth trying then I'll do it.KeithP said:

It's worked 4 out of 5 times for myself. I think there's an example of a well worded letter of complaint in the Newbies thread.Rojas909 said:

Complaints to the store(s) often works. Appeals to that website never works.Rojas909 said:Thank you for replying.

As it's a multi-outlet site, you will probably best chasing the retail park's Managing Agent, who is probably who contracted Nexus to operate there. You can often find out who they are by checking the foot of the welcome plinth (listing the stores on site) found at the entrance to the car park. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
