Not a particularly frugal day but not a speedy one either yesterday . Shopping done £65.90. Resisted the temptation to buy reduced Easter eggs as it was still cheaper to buy it in bar form. More sadmin done around dad’s house-bills.
The youngest boyfriend came for tea and a movie evening as he couldn’t come today- it’s the youngest birthday today. They were quite happy with homemade burgers 🍔 and shop bought chips and a Star Wars film.
Today we are taking them to a little cafe they like for lunch ( jacket potatoes) and then they want dropping off at my in laws. A couple of their best friends are dropping in at various times of the evening. So a busy day.
We had a few tears today as it’s their first birthday without my dad - he used to call them his little ray of sunshine and they miss him..

    Happy birthday to your youngest!

I agree with you about chocolate being cheaper by the bar than per egg.

Thanks cherryfudge and earthgirl2. Blooming cafe was shut when we got there. Long drive over the peak to get to another safe food place that the youngest will eat at. Mum paid. We won’t be going again as they’ve put the prices up and it really wasn’t that nice. But the youngest enjoyed theirs at that was the main thing.
OH is hoping to go back to work tomorrow and they will put him on light duties until we go on holiday.
Today I checked both our national insurance contributions and we both only need another 2 years and we will be entitled to the full amount come retirement. We’ve both had gaps in paying due to stints in university. However, it’s good to know it’s only 2 more years and not more.

I hope the return to work goes well. Shame about the cafes, but at least youngest enjoyed theirs.

Good luck to Mr LB for his return to work. Hope he can ease in gently.

Happy birthday to youngest - sounds like a good day for them in spite of missing granddad 😊❤️
