Have you tried the brand taste test on here -,where you go down a brand on foods til you hit the sweet spot
I tried and realised I just can’t drink the lowest brand coffee (beans) but other things I can easily go bottom shelf
I also use my earl grey teabag twice and only now buy Twining* when it’s reduced - or else I will buy a supermarket version
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

As an experiment (and because I was procrastinating!!) I started hanging up my teabags to dry in the airing cupboard and then using them 3 times - it's perfect for me!Save £20,000 in 2025. April 2k, May 3.5k1

Food for thought earthgirl2 and cherryfudge.
Had brunch at in laws before we went to the plot.
Frugalness for today
1) free exercise- yoga 🧘🏻♀️, walked miss giddychops and digging at the plot.
2) harvested rhubarb- made rhubarb and custard crumble bars and roasted the rest
3) harvested asparagus- asparagus, cheese and salad sandwiches for tea.
4) water used for boiling asparagus was used to soak miss giddychops food.
5) shower water saved for flushing the loo..

I've never roasted rhubarb - do you add anything, and how long does it take, if you don't mind my asking?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I don’t add anything cherryfudge, I put it on about gas mark 5 for 30 minutes. If it’s not done I check every 10 minutes - depends on how thick the chunks are. I roast it until it’s soft but still holding its shape.Love 🐞

Yesterday we called at dads , cut the grass, emptied a couple of nice pots to bring home and retrieved some garden tools.Frugalness for yesterday
1) Used the pc to cook chickpeas for tea rather than boil on top of the cooker
2) Snack was homemade rhubarb and custard crumble bars 😋 and lunch was leftover soup.
3) Picked another 8 kilos of rhubarb (roasted), will do the crumble toppings today and freeze for another day.
4) Free exercise- 🧘🏻♀️, walking 🚶 miss giddychops and putting in 2 rows(26x2) of potatoes 🥔 at the plot yesterday. Transplanted my golden beetroot to its final place.5 ) No money spent 🎉
6) Free plant 🪴 pots and tools from dads.Love 🐞
