It's sounding as though you might need to send your apologies - as you say, older folk won't want a lurgy and the rest would help you. You could always meet up later and extend the birthday celebrations (we do this quite often and it's nice to have a bit of a treat when the main event is past).

    Gate is sounding good. :)

I’m better, unfortunately OH back issues have been made worse by the youngest falling and taking OH with them. So, come Tuesday he’s going to have to get a sick note for work. He is not best pleased as you can imagine.
    Frugalness for today
    1) Meal planned, shopped from home first and made a shopping list that I will stick to 🤣
    2) Focused on buying seasonal
    3) Down graded food I got today. (£55.65 but this did include Easter eggs and wine 🤫)
    4) I have a little metal teapot and have found that 2 herbal teabags will make me 4 cups of tea, therefore saving 2 teabags.

    Love 🐞

Oh that's really tough for your poor OH. I hope the latest layer of damage is soon mended.

Good list of frugalities: I do similar with herbal tea bags (and coffee bags when I use them). It all mounts up!

The youngest finally met their new physio, hoping they can help them build up their stability and stamina.
    Frugalness for today
    1) Used home grown asparagus, hop tips ( trying saying that when you’ve had a few) and peas in our risotto.
    2) Lots of free exercise

Here's hoping on the physio.  I pay for private physio & it is worth it.

    The risotto sounds lush.

I hope they establish a really good working relationship. :)

Yesterday was a day for battening down the hatches. Really cold, windy and rainy here, ended up putting the heating on as the youngest and mum were cold.
    Frugalness for the day
    1) New refurbished lumi3 alarm clock arrived (40%) off. Sleep patterns hopefully will improve
    2) Supermarket shop done almost all products downgraded. Saved about £30 odd.
    3) wm, dw and car all charged using cheap electric tariff.
    4) free exercise
    5) managing to keep to portions sizing (using less food)

That's a big saving on your food bill. I hope you'll be happy with a lot of the new stuff though it must be difficult to go from organic to 'ordinary'. You may find some new favourites, though!

DS and I were saying how much of a difference it's made to weigh our cereal rather than just pour a bowl. I add fruit to mine then don't need anything more all morning, despite it being what looks like a tiny helping. So portion sizes worked in that instance.

I haven't tried a clock that wakes you with light, which is what I assume yours does. It strikes me as a gentle way to wake up. I'll be interested to know how you find it.
