Pulling my frugal pants on.

Had to rearrange the assessment due to complications with the person on the other end of the phone. Did have a lovely phone call from head of department after complaining and youngest with have a in person assessment instead. Having to wait a couple of weeks but that’s ok.We are off to see their best friend today, so they’ve had a huge lie in as they are exhausted after the other day. Then they plan to meet another friend for a catch up.Trip to dads later to check the work the decorator has done before I pay them. We have 4 viewers this week. Hope the lick of paint helps it to sell. We lowered the price at the weekend.I’ve managed to excavate 11 items out of the garage ( tip and cs) and a trees worth of paperwork whilst looking for some documents that are still missing in action.

Sorry cherryfudge didn’t reply to your question. Yes it will massively affects my downtime, unfortunately. However, I’m looking at where I can build in time and learning to appreciate what time I do get. Living in the moment I think they call it.

I'm sorry you'll lose out on time for yourself. If youngest is happy visiting friends, though, there may be bits of time you can reclaim.
Well done on getting 4 viewers! It think spring is in the air and people are often in the mood for new starts, whether it's spring cleaning or moving house.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Good luck with the viewings.
Hope your youngest is happier not being at college..I don't think it's for everyone and now kids are forced to stay in education till 18 it's causing lots of unhappiness in some of them (I work with those on ehcps and with disability and lots don't want to be there).

I think the problem is dfwb321 is the is nothing particularly out there to meet their needs or future aspirations. I spoke to their friends mum yesterday and they feel the same way. I did write a longer entry venting about the lack of support etc but I just find that make me feel down and it doesn’t help. So on a more positive note we are off for a walk later before I drop them off at my mum’s for the weekend.Had to set up a dd for the dentist who have decided to go private for blah blah blah reasons.😤.Literally nowhere close by offering nhs, so we’ve had to bite the bullet £42 for 2 off us. Luckily the youngest accesses a specialist nhs funded dentist. Need to reduce what we put into savings by that amount, dreading the april price rises. 🤞dads house sells soon as that will ease the pressure. Although we’ve already spent the majority of it in our heads. New kitchen is essential , money set aside for a new to us car and 5 years of pension top for me and it’s gone🤷♀️.Right best get miss giddychops out and then back to document hunting

Cherryfudge most of the youngest friends are not as independent as them so often parents tag-a-long which means I’m roped in to speak to them. They do have 1 friend that they see on their own which usually gives me about a 2 hour me window but it’s very hit and miss if and when they meet.Love 🐞

I wonder of it's worth clubbing together with the other parents to give each other time off? Depending on support needs of course.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Thanks cherryfudge something to consider.
I was feeling so fed up this morning that I decided to declutter the garage. Only managed about an eighth of what needs doing but it felt good to make progress on something. 5 items to the cs, 13 assorted items to the tip, 8 boxes recycled and 19items selected but put to one side so OH could yay or nay. 11 yays to go to the plot and 8 nays put back in the garage. I can actually walk the length of the garage now and get to the cupboard where the jars etc live.
We might of sold the house 🥳, acceptable offer made late this afternoon. We have 3 viewers tomorrow so will see if they will offer more. If not, happy to accept their offer. Celebrated with a 🍹 .
