New patio doors are being fitted as we speak courtesy of the grant we got from the council. Lots of banging about. Just waiting for a phone call from the company who are making the ramp. That could be another couple of weeks😤. So I will continue to haul the wheelchair into the house for the foreseeable future.Had a lovely day with the eldest on Saturday, went and cheered them on at a park run near to where they live. I cooked breakfast when we got back to their house and then caught the bus into the city. Went for cocktails/mocktails and then mooched around the shops. Bought some socks🤣 and a pin badge and that was it. Had a lovely meal at a restaurant they used to work at (mine is better, but it was nice not to cook and not a bad price), went and saw the light show and then drove home. It was a long but enjoyable day. Yesterday I did very little as I was shattered plus the weather wasn’t great. Food shop done -£66.78.OH and I have booked our weekend away and plumped for the more expensive option as it’s somewhere we’ve wanted to go for ages. We did look at yha , but they only had availability for places we’ve either been to or too far away. Anyway it will give us an idea of whether it’s somewhere we would want to holiday for longer. Supposedly got lots of places withGF options, but we will see.I really hope they are done soon as I’m 🥶

Just seen my signature 🥴. We seem to be spending a lot of money at the moment and not putting anything into the EF. I think this is because for years and years money has been incredibly tight and now we have a bit of wriggle room. It’s been nice to buy nice things and book holidays. However, we need to rein it in, so after this weekend we need to get back to our frugal ways.Love 🐞

List made for tomorrow as I keep forgetting to sort stuff out. So far I have 15 items listed and I’ve already done 3 of them. Obviously they were low hanging fruit, but it’s a start. Got the window people to leave me the glass from the patio doors they removed. These will be taken up to the allotment to be repurposed.
Hopefully the car will ready tomorrow and the bill will be small🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. House is tidy.Right time for bed said zed.

Managed 13 jobs out of 15. New list made and broken down 1 job into separate components, so that makes it more doable. Cupboard of doom in kitchen, decluttered. 2 blender jugs with no lids, 2 cracked plastic jugs, plus several other items. 5 things cleared from the garage by OH although he kept the ropes from the swing he took apart🙂.Love 🐞

Great progress, well done! I think if a job can be broken into parts, that's actually several jobs and it's much healthier to celebrate progress than beat yourself up for not getting the whole lot done at once.
I am so in sympathy with your DH: I too keep things that might be useful!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

The youngest has left college and won’t be returning for the foreseeable future. They have an assessment for counselling this pm, medication has been upped and they have said they feel calm for the first time in forever. We have decided to focus on building them back up mentally and physically over the next couple of months rather than looking for a new placement. So it begins……,

I hope the appointment helps your youngest. It sounds as though they've given college a fair try, and it was obviously a stressful experience. Is there perhaps something they can do from the warmth of home to give them structure and build skills?
It's obviously a new phase for you too. Remember you can come on here if you need to put things down in writing or look for insights or new ideas. Is this going to be a big thing in terms of losing your downtime?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
