10,000 or near enough done on our walk today. Miss giddychops is pooped. Very murky day, but it did really make the blood red of the dogwood pop. OH eyed up the next section of hedge he’s hoping to lay with his next batch of students. Very critical of some hedge that’s been layed by someone else. Gave me an in-depth talk as to what had been done wrong🤣.Right best get togged up as he’s started a fire in the garden as it’s our anniversary weekend - 23 years. We are celebrating our first anniversary mortgage free🥳. Need to find the Buck’s Fizz.

Went to the plot after OH cooked us a big breakfast. Managed to get broad beans in and covered with glass. OH replaced the old carrot/parsnip bed that was falling to pieces. Garlic gone in and netted to stop the birds pulling them out. Spoke to the chairperson and asked about bringing dad’s greenhouse over. Just need to provide measurements and pictures, but shouldn’t be an issue. Saw several plot neighbours caught up on who had storm damage etc and their future plans. Need to think about getting the heated propogaters out. Tomatoes and onions want sowing in the next couple of weeks. Plot was very wet under foot, but the sun was shining which made such a big difference. Hopefully get up there again Tuesday as I need to sow some broad beans in pots for any gaps we get.Right best flex my muscles in preparation of moving a friends sofa out onto their drive.Love 🐞

Just seen last months electric/gas bill it’s an eye watering £248.39. Luckily we had a buffer but there is only £249 left for feb/march and nothing for march/ April. We have got abit slack in turning things off and having the heating on constantly (I like to be snug and due to low mood have been in the house a lot) We can not sustain that level of consumption and payment. The first part of my inheritance is gone and the rest is tied up in his house. We need to rein in our spending. It’s been nice to have to extra cash to treat ourselves ,but our normal household income cannot sustain it and we will quickly end up in debt. The end of our mortgage payments happened at the same time as the end of CTC, so we are no better off. At least we are not in a worse position.Right best get the washing out in natures tumble dryer.

Our utilities bill will be high as well: we had a very cold spell everywhere, didn't we? Today is mild here and yesterday the heating didn't go on till late so perhaps we can both recoup a bit on mild days. It's nice the days are getting a bit longer and perhaps the extra daylight will lift your mood and encourage you to spend a few minutes extra out of doors?
I did notice the washing dried almost completely outside yesterday.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Washing almost dry but it started raining. Very grey outside now. Kept the heating off so far.Rode my bike to the allotment, sowed more broad beans but into pots this time to fill in any gaps. Tidied up the grapevine house. Starting to train it to cover one side of the greenhouse. Brought back a bag of rubbish. Since FIL won’t be going up as much (almost none existent at the moment) , I’m going to sort it how I want it. The plan is to go up each day spend an hour weeding etc and an hour sorting out the sheds etc.
The chap from the window company has been and measured up. Hopefully 4wks and they will be fitted. No word from the company that is sorting the ramp.Right time to get miss giddychops out for a walk.

10,000 steps done and dusted. Curry made for tomorrow (pc chickpeas), and pasta bake for 2 of us and spaghetti bol for youngest tonight. . 3 additional pots of mince cooling before frozen for another day for them. Sent mum home with rhubarb crumble/custard and curry. I’m not convinced she’s eating proper meals at home, so at least this way she’s getting 3 descent meals a week. Money shuffle done. Very tired, think an early night is needed.Right best get the garlic bread in. Pants forgot to switch the oven on 😤.

At the plot , having a break whilst it rains. Weeding the asparagus bed and hopefully an hour of tidying up and getting rid of some the rubbish that has accumulated. Trying to organise stuff so that it’s more accessible. Birds are singing their hearts out.
Walked miss giddychops up to the book swap box and chose about 10 books, obviously I want be taking that amount with me next week but it gives me a choice. Almost 8,000 steps done already.Right it’s stopped raining best get back to it

Just over 13500 steps absolutely shattered. Really pleased with what I got done at the plot. Lots of scrap metal took down to the metal heap at the plot. Donation plot yielded 4 large plastic boxes, which I’ve used for bits and pieces. There is a large box of crap that needs to go to the tip. Bought 2 barrels from the committee to turn into water barrels (£10).Trip to dad’s and met half sibling. Discussed what is the next step. Lots of stuff needs to go to the chazzers still. We are contemplating giving it a lick of paint as that’s the feed back we’ve had. Picked up some fruit etc from Tosco on my way home (£18.37 used a £1.50 voucher)Tea was curry that I made yesterday.Need some sleep. Night everyone

Shattered again, been super busy roll on next week. Met half sibling at dads, managed to get rid of more crap to the local tip and a boot full to a chazzer. Nothing I wanted this time really. Came home and rode my bike up to the plot. Removed more crap ( bit of theme developing here) from the lean to and tidied away lots of plant pots etc before cycling back home. Felt very scuzzy so had a long hot shower, jimbo jambos on, listening to the radio whist starting tea.Right best get the pumpkin diced and sliced and put in the oven to roast before making risotto with it.Love 🐞
