That's fab. :) You deserve a break after the time you've had recently. I hope your FiL is recovering okay? (Cherry goes back into lurkdom).

Thanks beanielou it's a relief it's done. First days interest is showing already😭. So mortgage currently stands at £30,007.42. We can pay 10% a year off.
Cherryfudge FIL is much better thank you, he's been discharged but has to continue taking strong antibiotics.
So, today is all about getting mum back home once we've been to see the physio. It will be strange not having her here but nice to have the house back.

  • Morning LB
Hope your FIL is doing okay, I can't believe they discharge people with sepsis :hushed: I had it years ago and was quarantined in hospital for a week and people coming in had masks on and white plastic aprons to protect me :hushed: aside from the sepsis I was young, fit and healthy too? Perhaps there is different types I don't know about. Hope he continues to get better and stronger every day.
My sister recently had a scare with what we thought was sepsis but turned out to be pneumonia, she is still deathly ill (not helped by the fact she is so tiny). Seems to be a lot going about lately, I hope you don't catch whatever cold your DD had.
We debated not doing our green bin, it is £44 for only spring, summer and some of autumn...but we decided to do it in the end. We are very close to the tip so could have driven it there but laziness won out and the fact DP car is a company car :lol
    Have a good day

Hope your sister gets better soon debtfreewannabe321.
Finally felt well enough to go to the plot to take down the brassica netting. Laid weed suppressant down. Still need to buy some more, as we might not use a large area of the plot this year due to illness. Took up the straps that I had rescued from the youngest's old leg splints to use.

  • Went to the plot yesterday, to weed the cauliflowers and cabbages 🥬we've over wintered in the greenhouses. Gave them a feed of worm🪱sweat to give them a boost. Managed to catch up with our neighbour. Filled them in on fil health and caught up on plot gossip. Promised them that they could have some of our tomato🍅 plants as they missed the boat on sowing theirs.
Took fil up this morning to harvest rhubarb he sat on the bench, top and tailed the stalks whilst I harvested. Came away with a shopping bag full. Harvested the chives as well. They just need processing and then freezing.
Shopping was a quick affair but not cheap again. It did contain dog🐶 food. Picked up 4ys pots of double cream, so will get the ice cream🍦🍨maker on later. Will go nicely with a crumble.
At the Dr's again this afternoon and then into town for herbal supplements and nuts🥜.

It was a bittersweet visit KK he was so pleased to be there, but also talked about that he won't be able to come up without one of us or do what he likes doing. We talked about weekly visits and jobs he might be able to do. Next job is measuring the greenhouse gaps, as we have lost a couple of panes.
Had a text from our previous bank to tell us our mortgage account is closed and any excess paid will be reimbursed. Did wonder if I would have to chase this up.
Busy day today, visiting dad and changing his bedding, the youngests old TA is visiting, then the youngest is going for a sleepover and then I've tomato plants to pot on.
Best get a wriggle on and get miss giddychops out for a walk.
