Glad you had a lovely day - the simplest things are often the best and your day out sounds perfect :) keepers are hard to find :)
  • Had great plans for the allotment, but between the weather and DH feeling poorly again it didn't happen. Took myself off on a couple of dog walks, so 10,000 steps easily done. Finished my book whilst DH watched the rugby and snacked on crisps.

    Frugalness
    1. Free exercise with miss giddychops
    2. Ys Veggie sausages for breakfast 😋
    3. No money spent

    Grateful for
    1. Time to relax
    2. A good book
    3. Pre-made tea that just needed reheating.
    Love 🐞

  • Me too debtfreewannabe321.
Slow start to the day, didn't get up till nearly 10. Lovely walk with miss giddychops and a very proud lady she was carrying her stick home.
    Frugalness
    1. Sticks from our walks every day will eventually amount to a fires worth.
    2. Sowed future ingredients - basil, chillies, peppers, onions and aubergines. Compost was a mix of shop bought compost (leftover from last years) and our own.
    3. Plant labels cut from old marg tubs. Cells were been thrown out by another allotmenter so I brought the home. Nothing wrong with them.
    4. Old bed sheet(pings off the corners) cut up for rags.
    5. Meal plan done with what's available at the plot, freezer and cupboards in mind.
    6. Hot flushes mean I keep turning the heating down or off.
    7. Leftovers for tea.
    8. No money spent

    Grateful for
    1. Growing season has started
    2. Leftovers for lunch and tea (couldn't face cooking today).
    3. Improvements in my health.

Love the idea of Miss Giddychops being so proud of her stick 🤩❤️

Is it already time to sow peppers and such? I’m behind already! 😳😊

  • KK and debtfreewannabe321 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Very windy day but at least it's been dry.
Mortgage broker (big well known company) might have dropped a clanger. We appear to have 2 companies of solicitors sorting out our remortgage 😳🤔. Given them till the end of the week to sort and then will go directly to the bank. Bunch of spanners.
The youngest came home from college early due to feeling ill and no sooner had we got in, DH walks in, he'd been told to come home as he wasn't well either. House of pestilence.

    Frugalness
    1. Cut the end of the toothpaste and it has provided an additional 12 brushes
    2. Scrapping deodorant out of the push up bit of the tube.
    3. Used nature's tumble drier
    4. Weeded asparagus bed mmmm hot buttery asparagus 😋.
    5. Harvested leeks, celeriac, psb, kale and brussel sprouts.
    6. Not watched the rectangule in the corner, don't need a dose of doom and gloom.
    7. Cancelled lunch with friend on Wednesday due to pestilence, (she has cancer, so don't want to give her anything. I feel guilty as its her birthday too)
    8. Most of tea was supplied by the plot
    9. Reading another free book
    10. Free exercise with miss giddychops
    11. Wheelchair charged, wm, dw and car on overnight to take advantage of cheap electric.

    Grateful for
    1. The plot and having time on my own up there.
    2. Talking to the eldest and them been happy
    3. It been nearly time to drug the youngest.
