Neighbour interfering with viewings

Long story short, me and my family were forced out of our home which we own due to the behaviour of the neighbour, which included threats to kill and sexually assault us, as well as chucking poison over the fence for our dog to ingest as well as other ASB. Previously they had made a lot of comments that suggested that they wanted our house for themselves to knock theirs and ours together (semi-detached)

It was all reported to the police, but they are not interested. Telling us that it is civil boundary dispute, there's no reason for us to be afraid, we and our dog are 100% safe to be in the house/garden as there has been no physical injury to any of us. My other half has attempted suicide on three occasions as a result of all of this and we have made a complaint to the police but nothing has happened with that. Plus I don't have the energy to keep fighting and to have to keep explaining it all over and over again only to be told that the behaviour of the neighbour is totally acceptable and fine. I'm also losing the will to keep on going. 

We have been staying with friends and family (no agencies are willing/able to help us with any temp housing because we still have a house and again according to them there is no danger) and made the decision to sell the house. 

There have been a couple of viewings (including by the neighbour), however, each time there is a viewing, the neighbour is coming out screaming, shouting, verbally abusing the potential buyers telling them to get off the property, they aren't allowed to be there etc. This is obviously affecting the ability to sell the house and we really don't know what to do. Plus our doctors have washed their hands of us as we are no longer in the area but no other gp is willing to take us on a temp basis even though our mental health is at rock bottom

Police and council aren't interested 
We have tried contacting several solicitors but again none are interested as they are telling us it's a criminal matter but police are saying it's civil. 
Legal advice through car/house insurance have also said until the neighbour physically does something to us they can't help. 
Have tried Citizens Advice but can never get through

we just don't know what to do and where to turn, a quick google has suggested an injunction, but we don't have much money and we can't find any legal representatives willing to help/take it on, plus we'd have to disclose the injunction if someone did make an offer which would mean they'd pull out. 

If anyone can help/offer advice/guidance tha'd be great as I don't know how much longer we can go on.

    I assume the neighbour is doing this at they want to buy it for themselves? have they made an offer?

    yes your route is a civil injunction unless the neighbour commits a crime

    ps death threats are, of course, a crime
  • The neighbour has viewed the house but has not made any offer. We can only think they are doing this so we drop the price massively for them to then pounce on. 

    Police have told us that unless we are physically injured no crime has been committed and we are just tired of having to constantly argue/ justify it.

    Try other solicitors - the fact the neighbours are doing something which happens to be criminal doesn't mean you can't take civil action too. Though how useful it would be is another matter.
  • We have tried the car/house insurance advice line and about 20 different solicitors; none are interested. 

    Complete been sapped physically, mentally and just don't have the energy to keep looking for solicitors and have to explain the situation over and over again only to be told no.

    The neighbours at pur previous house were a nightmare. 

    We ended up part exchanging the house against a new build.

    The sale of the house was then the developers responsibility. As it happens they sold other quickly. But it has since resold again, no doubt due to the neighbours.

    You definitely have to tell any buyers about your problem with the neighbours. There's a question about this in the property information forms, which form part of the contract. If you cover this up, your buyers can sue you. So, in a sense, your wretched neighbour is doing you a favour. 

    What I suggest you do is write to your neighbours, saying that you are not prepared to sell to them under any circumstances. Then drop the price, so it's low enough to tempt someone to buy.

    That's a load of nonsense.

    I would be writing a letter to the chief constable, my local MP and local councillor.

    we invested a lot of money into it so in order to get the money back ideally it needs to go for market value.

    Thanks, we know about needing to disclose, although the issues seems to be with us personally 

    we don't want any contact with the neighbour and even if we drop the price it's not going to stop them verbally abusing anyone who has a viewing which has already put a lot of potential buyers off.
