Might they be too salty? I think it's the oil which is particularly good for them, but I don't know for sure.Signature removed for peace of mind0

Bought a packet of 3 rolled pork skins for 49p, its to be used for crackling but will be just as good as dog treats once cooked. a similar rolled hide is 99p for 1, here i get 3 for 49p.0

If you are using pet supermarket for premium foods, check the deals.
Currently they have the Royal Canin Feline range, (sensible 33; Fit 32; Kitten 36, Mature and Exigent 35/30) at £12.94 for 2kg
But the 400g packs are currently reduced to £1.75
so buying 2kg in the 400g pack size works out as £6.75, a saving of £6.19 (Can that be right?)
They also have James Wellbeloved 225g packs of Turkey, duck or fish (no lamb) at £0.99. The 2kg packs do work out cheaper on these at £7.99 but as I wanted to try my cats out on JWB, the smaller packs are a bargain for me.
Or has my maths really let me down yet againMy first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead
Proud to be a chic shopper

400g * 5 = 2000g
--> £1.75 * 5 = £8.75
So you still save a lot, just not quite as much as you thought.0 -

has anyone used this site before recently - does anyone know if they take electron cards? I am presuming they are ok as they have been used before by quite a few moneysavers looking at the forums but the saving seems too good to be true
Thanks0 -

I've used VetUK for years now, their prices are excellent as is the service. I often receive orders the very next day (sent by normal Royal Mail) and postage is free. I always click via a rescue link too - it takes you to the exact same site and you order as normal but the bonus is VetUK donate 5% of my order value to charity
You'll need a prescription from your vet for the Fortekor though, you post it off and they hold it on file if you don't order the full quantity or it's a repeat one. This obviously means you won't receive your first order as quickly as normal as they need to receive the prescription from you before they'll despatch anything. Vets can now charge for prescriptions but you'd still be saving, mine charges £5 per prescription.0 -

The brine would be too salty. They can have them in Oil, and even the Tomato sauce ones are ok for themI know my spelling is shocking :eek: It is alot better than it used to be though :rotfl:0 -

I dont think the brine would be a problem if they are only an occasional treat, but it may be worth rinsing them.
Fish in oil is fine, but do drain the oil off unless your dog is skinny, as it is only veg oil, (it's the actual oil in the oily fish which is good for them), and yes, I give mine fish in tomato sauce although I would be very surprised if that didnt contain some salt too!0 -
you can add me & my hounds to the chappie fan club! it's cheap, easily digestible & they love it. what more can you ask for?0
