Great Feed, House and Keep Your Pets Hunt

We use chick crumb as cat litter. It's the same consistencey as normal clay litter; it clumps, and it's a lot cheaper, especially if you buy it on-line from animal feed sites. Basically it's just food for chicks. There's the added bonus that you can flush the clumped ltter down the toilet after use.
Also, try the site http://petsitterswap.com. You can get in touch with other pet owners in your area and arrange mutual pet-sitting for free while you're on your holidays. There's a small initial fee to post you contact details (about £10 I think but I can't remember) and then you no longer have the worry and expense of finding kennels or catteries etc.0 -
Zipman, my spaniel has similar problems despite regualr worming, vet suggested feeding him Chappie - looks disgusting, smells disgusting but solved the problem.0

Where can you buy chick crumb in cities (such as London) or is there a link for online or telephone ordering/delivery? I asked this before & no1 answered!0

Pets at home are selling both flea treatments (frontline & others) & wormers (Drontal & others) instore now - I imagine it will be a matter of time before they stop stocking those much less effective brands of parasite prevention/cure they also stock!0

I'd like to put a word in for www.medicanimal.com
They not only have competitive prices on pet medicine but a portion of their profits go to pet charities and have just recently partnered with the RSPCA's Animal Hospital to provide all their clients with their prescription food needs.
There is a introductory 10% discount offer and they often send out other good discount offers by email.
All that combined with fast and free UK delivery, I wouldn't go anywhere else!0 -
Food; ditch the commercial food, and feed a raw diet. £3.50 to feed three dogs ( large ) here
Toys; milk bottles, toilet roll tubes, buy Kongs, and use them as throw toys
Fleas; Garlic clove once a day0 -
Hmmm now seriously considering a cost only downgrade now to Chappie for my 3!:T
Also a great thing for doggies with sensitive skin/severe skin problems is to bathe them fairly regularly in Hibiscrub (a kind of antibacterial wash used before major surgeries in hospitals/ also used on horses with skin porblems). Our westie used to have terrible skin problems, as they usually do. I used to pay an absolute fortune on medicated shampoo, powders etc for her skin - none of which seemed to make that much of a difference. It was only when she was scratching and biting so badly at her lower body and back (as if she had severe flees, but it was just inflamed) and her skin was all broken and sore i thought i'd better hunt something down and found that. And also occasionally(3/4 times a year) i rub a little olive oil in her back and she has never had the skin problem since and this has been for about 2 years now. AND she is very grateful, lol!:T
So for anyone with westies particularly, if they have bad skin - get some hibiscrub sharpish! Just follow the instructions as it musn't get in the inner ears apparently!!!!
My lovely lady has a shower once a week now (i know, i know before anyone tells me its too much), she doesn't have a wiry topcoat as she is regularly trimmed and always on our sofas so has to smell fresh. Plus she goes crazy for a shower and sometimes i find her in there of a morning waiting.:rotfl:Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0 -

You wouldn't be the first person to tell me about Chappie so thankyou. We've got her on dry Wagg at the minute and all seems fine. Pedigree had her hyper all day. Just gotta sort the number 1 problem out now.English by birth. GEORDIE by the grace of God.0 -
