Well I've failed spectacularly on only my second day - but I put it down to being ill. After Mr T arrived mid-morning I felt too rough to do much more than put the freezer stuff and chilled stuff away before heading back to bed for a bit. Must have needed it because I slept solidly for 90mins.
Did wake up feeling a bit better but just not energetic enough to do more than put the rest of the Mr T delivery away, make some lunch and then put lamb chops with leeks and onion in the slow cooker for dinner this evening. Afternoon just spent mooching around feeling rough. The constant rain and grayness we've had all day hasn't helped!
I will do better tomorrow, I promise!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Hope the poorlies feel better soon.
I have been on a magical mystery tour today and spent six hours on a coach. I kept waving as I am sure I must have passed some of you. Here are some of the towns and villages we went through that I can remember. The scenery was beautiful.
Tadcaster, Pool, Harewood, Grassington, Ilkley, Otley, Pateley Bridge, Skipton, Harrogate......
Since getting home I have brought the towels in off the line.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Covid has struck our household, I suspected it was not just a cold and I was right. Not that it makes much difference to anything I suppose! Pouring rain and high winds here. Stay safe everyone x9

@Asparklierblonde I hope you all feel better v. soon.
With regard to my earlier post, I have to say the lamb chop/leek/onion thing I did in the slow cooker (first time and inspired by something I read online) was positively divine and touched several needy spots...! I will do it again....I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Morning all xx
Get well soon to all the poorlies xx
You know the drill: I'm up, dressed, made my bed..etc etc.
Yesterday was calmer but has left me in a quandary. Following my email on Tuesday the Phlebotomy Team Lead has been asked to sit with me and give me an understanding of their Service and how it runs. Good idea. I'm up for that. We've arranged it for Tuesday. Where's the quandary? My supervisor has told me that she doesn't want her Team to learn this????? Damned if I do, damned if I don't. After much pondering I've decided to email a much higher up (in-between higher up being on holiday) and ask for guidance. My brain hurts 🤯
Just another day with the lunatics running the asylum then! I'm beginning to think that I'm the 'normal' one. Oh! Isn't that the sign of insanity 🤔
Have a good day. Hold on to your hats. Take care

Ingredients (for 1):- three loin lamb chops (they were quite small, I'm sure it would work with any other sort)
- half a leek
- small brown onion
- s&p
- about a cup of boiling water
- bit of vegetable oil for frying
- slice leek and onion into small strips
- fry the strips lightly in the hot oil until beginning to slightly brown (only a couple of minutes)
- put in bottom of slow cooker
- fry lamb chops lightly in same oil until just slightly browned on the outside (only a couple of minutes)
- put on top of veg in slow cooker.
- Deglaze the frying pan with the hot water and let it bubble a minute
- pour into slow cooker until leeks and onion just covered but the chops are not
- sprinkle the chops with salt and pepper to taste
- put lid on slow cooker and cook for about five hours or so. I used the automatic function where it cooks on high for 30 minutes then drops to low.

In other news, I'm feeling a lot better today so will be able to fly. I'll crack on with the kitchen which is where the dining is also done. I also want to get out into the garden between the showers to start clearing up the debris created by Storm Babet.

More than halfway through the week already...
DS1 rang me on his way to work again this morning. I must remember to tell him he's doing a great job of getting my DH out of bed half an hour earlier these days - it means we get breakfast at a sensible hour!
Rosie needs her walk this morning, as heavy rain is forecast for this afternoon. But before going out I need to do more work on a church display board for a local Open Day on Saturday. I bought a cheap cork board. spent yesterday morning making a sturdy support for it, and now I have to fill it with pictures and a few eyecatching words.
I also need to go to Action Heart and then visit my friend A who recently had a major op, then couldn't return home because she lives alone and needed what our local authority calls the 'Reablement Service' in order to regain her independence. She is temporarily in a specialist intermediary unit, but says she is the only patient there who doesn't use a zimmer frame, just a stick, and she's not ready for a care home yet, thank you very much! Hopefully she'll be back in her own home next week.
Hope everyone has a good day xxx
