Sorry, yesterday was a complete flop after the busy weekend. Today my anxiety is really kicking my bum, and I am struggling. I hate to be a burden to anyone, so I don't really have anyone to talk to about it at the moment.
Dishes all caught up, toilet s&s, packing list made and suitcase started. I planned to do a tip run, but not driving means I can't always easily do it. I'll need to put feelers out with Mr FlamingoMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Hello all, hugs to all that need them, also get well soon to those under the weather, welcome to newbies and returners.
I managed to get the playmobil away, having emptied and hovered the cupboard. Also put back the paints, two boxes; the cars; four big boxes of duplo; the Tomy car things; Tracy island; the polydrons; the playdoh and cutters and the cricket bats. The remaining toys are boxed ready to list to give away.
Today the man is back to finish cutting the remains of the tree into planks. I could go out and help, OH is out there. But I know if I do I'll be asked to "just grab the other end of the plank and carry it over there". The planks are around ten to fifteen feet long, three feet side and 2-3 inches deep. To heavy for me. So instead I've minced some belly pork. Made and cooked a sausage plait, 38 meatballs and three trays of hobnobs. Now going to make potato cakes with left over mash.
DW done once, needs doing again and maybe twice.
Need to list toys.
Lots of knitting to finish.
Raspberries to pick.
Then I might look at today's list, to see what I "should" be doing.
Hugs to all, mumtoomany.xxxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.9 -
Thanks ASB. The neighbour who has the real rat problem (as in coming into her house both front and back) has already kick-started the official rat man service, so the removal of the bird feeders was prompted by his comment that he's not putting those rat poison boxes in the communal garden down until all the bird feeding has stopped, so that comment plus the two in the peanut feeder cage were enough for me to know they work. The sparrows were really, really upset this morning that there was no food for them. We're going to ask the rat man if we can put the seed-feeder out for an hour when we let the dog out in the morning and bring it back in after the sparrows have fed. It's got a pigeon spacer underneath it so there's nothing falls on the ground, so he might be okay with that, although I rather doubt it.For the first time in months and months and months I don't have any tasks nipping at my heels. I've got a million and one things I should do - wash paintwork around a really grimy window frame, turn the double around, clean the shower room, snip off all the dead bits of plants on the sundeck before they all get rained on, dust and on and on and on, but now it's a choice which I do rather than 'I must must must do that today.' Such a relief. The place is a tip, obviously, with the Room of Doom as cluttered as always but nothing urgent is outstanding. So today, I will do the shower room and the double, and wash that window's paintwork down before re-hanging the net curtain. Those particular windows (I did the double one last week) get really bad because they're in the basement, slightly damp, and therefore need ventilating. The muck that blows in and gets caught in the net curtain is amazing. Actually, come to think of it, our bedroom one needs doing too, so I'll wash that and the paintwork there too. That's enough Flying for one day.Better is good enough.8

Bedding has been stripped, washed and is blowing nicely in the wind on the line.
Bedroom mostly de-webbed and dusted and Dysoned, mattress also Dysoned.
I've not done under the bed because I need to move heavy bits and pieces and as I'm suffering from a bit of a chest infection, it's a job too far at the moment.
There is no floordrobe so nothing needed clearing there.
Also dusted the main hallway.
Will go test all the fire alarms (and the carbon dioxide alarm) now.
I'll then bring in a stash of wood to tide me over the duration of Storm Barbet, make lunch then put my feet up with the crossword and a trashy film this afternoon before bringing the bedding back in and replacing it on the bed.
Thanks for the inspiration.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Went to the tip to be rid of garden waste and fabrics. Washing is on the line, hope dryness comes before the rain does! Toiletries for holiday mostly sorted.Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

ASB i also have a stinking cold and could have joined you in the WAC last night. WFH today and in some ways it would have been easier to go into the office.
Anxious and just generally worried about everything. I have managed to dust and hoover downstairs, empty the DW, do some laundry and go for a little walk as well as the paid stuff.8 -
Shower room scrubbed, double bed made, superking window paintwork washed, the last of the snowdrop and narcissi bulbs planted, sundeck pots tidied up and the mint trough emptied, gardening tools washed, dried and put away for the winter, inside front door dusted and washed, our bedroom window woodwork washed, dog crate dragged out yet again to see if I could find why she was digging for Australia last night, bedside gibble all dusted, bedroom vacuumed.Bird feeders emptied, all the food thrown away, various bits scrubbed. Some of it will need to be soaked and scrubbed after that, but that can wait for another day.Better is good enough.8
